Is theft an issue camping during the week

We were on pad 2 over Thanksgiving and I had my little Honda 2000 out along the back of my RV. The way it was sitting it didn't look locked. I came out to it in the morning pulled out and there were footprints from the road to the generator. Luckily the cable stopped it so it wasn't stolen. Quick cut of the cable or handle would have been easy, but the cable stopped a quick grab.

At night all the dirt bikes and quads get locked up to the sxs with cables and locks. It’s a fairly thick cable and good quality lock, it won’t stop a good bolt cutter but is a deterrent.
During the day when we are out riding my son’s dog protects the property. He won’t let anyone within 100 feet of camp without telling them he is one mean mofo.

Ya,I could do the dog thing,I have one of those bad ass over protective fur balls, but with my luck some low life thief would get bit, swear they were just walking by and sue the shit out of me. I'd rather shoot the sucker.

Don't shoot them, just take them for a ride in the dunes and and about 1/2 way through there ride when there too scared let them out to walk back.
Zip ties keep them calm when installed

I don't want to jinx myself but I leave everything out and unlocked. Have never had any issues.
Same here i do lock somethings like gas cans and generator besides that alot just sits out.We also camped out by ourselves with just a couple neighbors and we usually kept an eye on each others camps. The good thing being far off the road was at night you could hear anyone driving up and kind of far to walk up there.

But last 3 years backed off on going to glamis as much as we did too.down to maybe 2-3 trips a year at most from 8-10 years ago.
