Been looking at new 1500s for a while and end of year they are having some good incentives. This truck has 11k in incentives and I can get another $1k from Costco before January 2nd. If that truck had a black interior vs gray I would be driving over in the morning to pick it up. So here is what I am wondering if anyone is in the know. The new 2027 body style and series of Chevy trucks will probably start coming out August/September. I don't want a new one and a 2026 would be just fine. Mainly due to they will cost more and I would not want a first year. What will pricing do on the 2026 models the first six months of the year. That RST has the trailering package and tailgate that I wanted. The one bullshit thing the salesman threw at me tonight is if I custom order a truck you don't know the incentives they will give until it comes in on the truck. Seems to me ordering custom would cost more. If someone has a good Chevy sales person out there they trust I would love to have that info.

I went thru this earlier this year seems all 1500 engines had problems I’m sure the bigger duramax will as well but ended up with a 2500

Where are you located? $12K off is a very good incentive. I bought my 2024 Silverado in July of 2024 and was able to take advantage of the $6500 GM rebate they had going at the time, $1000 Costco and my truck was listed as a “Managers Special” which took $2500 off for a total of 10K. Mine too is a 1500 Z71, RST with 5.3 engine. Only thing I did not get that I wanted was the multi flex tailgate.

Problem with waiting for the new 27 model to come out is you might have a harder time finding exactly what you want as the 26 inventory is going the be thinned out by then, and I don’t think you will get better then $11K off.

I too considered ordering exactly what I wanted, and your dealer is 100% right. If you special order it, you can’t lock in today’s incentive rates. You pay sticker because it’s special ordered, and you are only eligible for any incentives going from GM at that time of delivery. I think I was told GM offers these manufacturers rebates a couple times a year, but it’s not a guarantee and it’s not guaranteed the Silverado is part of that manufacturer rebate. But there is no guarantee what or if there will be when your vehicle arrives. So it is a gamble. Plus no guarantee on a Costco rebate and for sure no dealer discounts. But you get exactly what you want and for some that’s more important vs saving a few thousand dollars.

IMO if you really want the Silverado, and if the only thing the truck you are looking at has gray vs black leather seats, I’d jump on it, if not already gone. I’d be very surprised if you find the exact truck you want with every option you want on a dealer floor, with a $11K rebate and Costco’s rebate running. BTW look very closely at the $11K rebate and see if the dealer added any part of that rebate, as they like to add in stipulations. Like you have to buy the stupid “Karr” alarm, or ceramic paint protection, oil change service package etc..

If you like any GMC trucks... Look on www.libertygmc.com..... let me know if anything catches your eye... I have a no bullshit connection there. I would be glad to set up a phone call

Did not realize that not all trucks have the 2 speed transfer case. Need either a trail boss or other trim level with the z71 package. Dont really want the 2" lift on the trail bosses and I hate the black wheels that come on so many of those trucks. My dream truck would be a nice rst with z71 package and the cool tailgate. (And a set of $3200 upgraded GM wheels. lol) Going to flat tow this behind the moho thus the 2 speed transfer case. Sounds like these 3.0 thrusts going out are a problem and we are going to hear more about it. HP was increased in 2023 so I think I will search out a used 23 or 24 model with low mileage.

Chevrolet was showing $58k out the door for particular truck I was looking at. Tax and everything. One of the dealers told me $62.5k lol. No thanks.

I have special ordered pretty much every truck I have owned for 40+ years and never paid sticker. Even at the height of the covid scam, when dealers were adding $10K or more, I was able to order a '24 GMC dually for 8 or 10% off, minus any incentives, and the price and incentives were locked in, could get better but not worse. I ended up canceling the truck due to GM allocation shenanigans. There are always deals to be had. Be willing to travel.

Well now I'm looking at a new trail Boss LT. 2 in factory lift kit, skid plates, more aggressive tires for off-road and snow. I think that will fit what I need better. I will either live with black wheels, powder coat them a different color, or by a different wheel. One of my buddies from high school has a connection at one of the dealerships and he's going to look at an out the door price on a truck for me today. I don't think they will be able to get to where I need to be however. In that case it will still be a used one.

Actually I bought quite a few cars from out of state and flown or driven. I've had my searches only set at 250 mi. Good advice maybe I need to reach out further.

I’ve bought out of state…. Totally worth it. Most dealerships have systems that makes it super smooth. My last truck I bought in AZ and got $20k off MSRP. Was totally worth it. I had dealerships here I Ca laugh and say there is no way I was getting the deal I got.

I would shy away from that 3.0 diesel.
what are you towing???
When I got my 2024 GMC AT4 2500, I went to the gas motor. I have 42k miles on it and it has been at the dealer for oil changes and a tailgate recall.
My diesel was in every 1-3 months for something, usually electronic. The emissions have killed the diesel as a daily driver!
On average from my last diesel, 2018 L5P I am getting only 3 mpg less with this gas motor. Towing I was getting 12-14 with the Diesel and with this I'm getting 9-10, computer says 9.47 avg towing since new.

Check prices in Idaho. There's a dealer up there that had smoking deals the last few years.

Unfortunately the 3.0 duramax has had a lot of issues. Oil consumption issues. I know a few guys that have them and they have to take them back to the dealership every 1500 miles for an oil consumption test and they consider up to 1.5 qt during that time acceptable even for a new engine. Ridiculous

Giving up on the diesel. Called the dealer today and talked to parts. He said on the 3.0s they are doing a bunch of timing belts which of course the trans has to come out. He said WAY before the 150k or 200k interval. Plus now the rash of thrusts going out. I am done. Going down to look at a new Trail boss with the 5.3 gas. At least no 6.2 bottom end nightmare problems on those. Valve train issues yes with the dod/afm. But not sure if the new ones still have the issues. I would say yes. 5 year/60k mile warranty and maybe I just do the dod delete after 60k. Under 1k for parts and some labor I can do.

Is yours the 5.3?

Soon to be old truck versus my new truck.
