Is AI a threat?

I honestly think this could end up being society and possibly humanities undoing..

Thankfully, most people actually using AI, are well aware of it's shortcomings.

The people that think it's their friend, and are killing themselves over it, well...

Why use it ?. It's only as good as the data it uses. How are you going to decipher what is relevant and bs ?. What's different from what the current model is and the future AI model ?. How is AI going to benefit anything besides maybe the advertising industry or maybe companies like xxx or why ?. How are the companies that are spending billions on AI going to profit from what already is a circle jerk of spending and income ?. Maybe just another bubble on the horizon.
I'll stay away from AI and Bitcoin. I'm happy with %4.5
 
The AI that they give us peasants is nothing compared to what they have. We will no longer know what’s real and what’s fake.

That's a whole lot of questions right there! Did you really expect me to answer em all?? 🤣

I'll give the first one a shot though...

Tonight, I had a couple of Nice filets to cook. I wanted to do a reverse sear on em, and I couldn't remember how. The exact oven temps and all that.

So? ChatGPT to the rescue! And they came out absolutely perfect.

If I would have asked Google...

I would have got 10 links to 10 different websites, that I would have had to read through to find the answers.

ChatGPT gave me answers I wanted. Not links and shit to sort through.

It's good for coding too...

I can have it write CSS and PHP code for me, that hasn't failed me yet.

Today though, I was about to take a hammer to it...

I have some new meds I need to take, along with my current ones, and all the supplements I take too.

It kept making mistake, after mistake, after mistake!!! Even leaving out some of my meds in the final schedule. Fuck!

So I asked it...

Why the fuck do you keep forgetting things???

What I learned today is...

It's not able to discern and ongoing conversation, like you and I would.

When I adjusted the times I wanted to eat or have my coffee, it couldn't keep tabs on that like you and I would.

It told me...

Give my a master list. Meds, dosage, times, supplements, foods, everything it needs to know.

And then if I adjust anything after that ....

I have to ask it to re-write the master list, with the changes, and then have me verify it did it correctly. Then it can publish the changes to something I can copy and paste into Word.

Eventually, we got it right.

At one point I asked it ....

What is the best way to use you for this?

And it gave me the exact instructions!

What I've learned recently is...

If you want it to do something For you, it's best to ask for instructions FIRST.

It is a machine. Not a human that's able to discern the finer points of Normal communication.

Going forward...

When I want it to do something for me...

I'll tell it what I want, and then ask it How to feed it the data.

That's gonna make a huge difference, from this point, going forward. 👍🏼
