I wish Naugles would have bought Dell Taco instead the other way around. Naugles beat them all.

The correct answer is Naugles. I think one still exists in Fountain Valley.

Was a big fan of the Del Taco in Hawthorne growing up and for the occasional lunch at work, but it closed just post pandemic after being open since the early 80s.

Edit as I was typing this and Happy's post went up, so yes another vote for Naugles

Del Taco has the better tasting food, Taco Bell has the better sauce. I only eat at Taco Bell when I am craving the sauce for the longest time it was the only thing that scratched that itch, now I found that Tapatio does the trick so Taco Bell is few and far between. When it comes to Mexican Fast Food most times I will go to a smaller place that has better food over Del Taco, so it's maybe once a year, tops.

I know of three Gas Stations that have much better food

I'm with ya bud. I have both very close to the apartment so can't choose one over the other. I've about stopped going to McDonald's due to the poor taste but both my Americanized Mexican fast food spots make good food.

They are about the same.... I sorta avoid both of em the same. That said, I've developed a liking for the Double Crunch tacos on the Value Menu.

The last place that gave me the poops was Jack in the Box in Long Beach....w/the $1.99 pair of tacos. No JIB in my town...when we see one, we get those authentic Mexican food tacos ; )

When I moved out at 18 (Summer after I graduated HS) Taco Bell kept me alive.

Literally the only thing I like from them anymore is the Mexican Pizza, Bean n Cheese Burrito and Supreme Taco.

Del Taco was not close to my area, but they are over all better. Same simple "Mexican" fast food, but better ingredients, still fair prices and KRINKLE KUT FRIES!

Not to mention the OG Location near Dumont.

A friend of ours dad was the one that started Del Taco, Ed Hackbarth. My kids go to school with a couple of his grandkids. Wish I was in that family although I’d probably be 500lbs since I could get it whenever I wanted. I’m still a sucker for the cheddar quesadilla with the green chilis in it.

Del Scorcho is their best sauce. The hottest one sucks and tastes like Tabasco.

My favorite was Macho burrito and fries. No physical effects from the burrito but some massive toxic gas!
Last time I had one I gave the wife a Dutch oven! Funny as hell, but looking back, not a wise move. Haven't had a macho burrito since!!

The food is about the same at both but what I really hate is having to order from that damn ATM like machine at Taco Bell. Put a real person behind the counter. That one reason will drive me to Del Taco most of the time given a choice.

Taco Bell here in Tustin has AI at the drive thru.

It didn't fall for me ordering a Bell Beefer or Enchirito or Whopper with Cheese...

Perfect order every time no matter how i try to throw it a curve LOL.
