Kawasaki released the Teryx 4 H2 today! 250HP

Haven't been on here in a while, but the kawi dealer I work at got an H2 a few weeks ago. It looks and feels really nice, rides waaaay better than the krx just around the parking lot. I think it will do well at speed, very much unlike the regular krx. The downside is it feels slow, like my turbo r feels much quicker, although its just seat of the pants in the parking lot. Hopefully the aftermarket can help as I was greatly underwhelmed at the power, but that's just my perspective.

Do you know what power mode it was in? There are 3 settings. Also had it already been plugged by your techs and have the settings turned on or off? I’m told by my local dealer they come with some settings turned on like a valet or something? And from what some videos show the computer does not let it hard launch to protect the driveline. Many drag videos show it does not have the dead stop power, but at a rolling start it was competitive with the Mav R. EVO had already reprogrammed some of the Nannie’s, and adjusted the clutch and said it was a night & day difference.

But I’m also reading on RDC that a few are not just breaking belts, but something on the CVT is breaking. Not sure how true, but that’s what was posted. If true it will be interesting to see how Kawasaki handles it.

You did the 2k mi break in first, right?

😁

Of course I did the 2k" break in first, hehe. It was in normal and full power mode, it feels strongish off the bottom and then flattens out, supercharger effect I suppose. None of the settings or anything have been changed, just as it rolled off the truck. I actually just pulled it in to install a protection package, if I have a sec I'll hook it up to the computer and see what I can change

I get the idea of wanting to know what these things can do right out of the gate, and seeing how they compare to other models etc...

But Brand New machines just beating the shit out of them? No wonder these things are breaking.

Umm, If it dont work in the first 100 miles then it is a POS. Break it in how you are going to drive it. If you baby anything it will last a long time, but these are toys and are meant to be used as such.

I hooked it up to the kawi system and couldn't find any sort of "break-in" system to turn off. I did take it out and it seemed to be approx 8/9 second to 57mph from stomping the throttle to letting off. It felt sort of like a throttle tuning issue, like it was allowing the power to build slowly, unlike the can-ams and Polaris that let you just hammer it. Maybe it's a "self preservation" type thing to save the driveline. Either way it feels really nice, just needs a bit more umph. Also, I too believe in breaking them in how you drive them, and since we're a CF Moto dealer as well, I'd much rather them break here than when the customer takes them, it makes warranty a little easier.

And people wonder why people hate "stealerships"

Doing it is bad enough. Talking about it on a public forum is next level fucked up.

Yeah but beating the shit out of them when they are fresh has more to do with longevity of the machine rather than breaking something instantly..

I was talking to my buddy Chad Nelson about these yesterday, and I asked him what he'd buy if he was buying new.. One of these or a Can Am or Pro R.. He instantly said Can Am, and said they are having a lot of problems with the Kawi's..

Kinda took me by surprise to be honest?

That is all.

I think we will see what issues arise as more people get their hands on them. I would not expect any major issues with the Kawi. There is a lot of upside to the H2 and once Evo gets the tunes sorted out with clutching it is going to produce gobs of HP.

I take it Chad has not driven one yet.

I am sure his former youtube buddy will get the new Kawi and put it through the ringer.
