I need to get a new off-road jack. My 1.5t HF with the lift kit is too small for my new, heavier car. I also want a stronger jack to keep in the trailer in case of a trailer flat. So I'm looking at all the 3t jscks out there. There is a lot of competition and new stuff in this market segment. So what are folks recommending?

1. The Badlands 3t is currently $380. Most reviews are good. This looks to be the only jack with a locking handle. This is supposed to make it easier to roll around since none of these jacks have swivel casters. This jack also bolts the extension in place.

2. The new 2025 Pro Eagle Kratos with the new style BFG Big Wheel Kit is $599. It's made of alum and is a bit lighter. The wheels are wider which seems like it would be easier to roll around in the sand. You can get an optional 15" extension that seems nice. The extensions are a twist lock style. They also offer a mount kit for this jack direct from PE. The Badlands you have to find an aftermarket. I will need a mounting kit to put it on the wall of the trailer.

There are a bunch of others out there now from JEGS, CAT and many more. But the above two seem to be the most popular and are pretty dialed. What say you?
 
The guys i know with Proeagle have multiple warranty issues. They have switched to the Badlands and have not had issues yet. In my opinion it would be easier to warranty a HF Badlands than deal with pro Eagle and only get parts you had to install yourself.

There has to be tons of wall mounts for the Badlands online.
 
Used the harbor freight one yesterday. No complaints.
 
My son has the Badlands. He uses it daily. It's been a great jack. No regrets.
 
I have the Badlands one and use it for everything. Good jack and a lot easier to move around than the lifted HF jack. I even built a longer extension than the one that came with it. And I’ve never needed it (normal).
 
Don't waste your money on the ProEagle (biggest waste of money)....just buy the HF and don't look back!!
 
For the trailer can’t you just run it up on some blocks?

Anything Offroad we just use a tow strap and pull the car up sideways a bit..

I got the Harbor Freight around Feb with a coupon. I wanna say it was $250 or $275 I used @ROBERT L s and loved it. Wait for the sale / It is WELL WORTH IT!!!
 
The Daytona long reach 3 ton is the best jack I've ever owned. It's steel so it's heavy and that's the drawback of it. You'd have to fabricate some kind of wheels for it as I don't know if anything is marketed for this particular one. There's not many things that are "easy" to roll around in the sand lol.

I don't know the specifics, but an old group member used to use an electric jack with extension for his Tatum.
 
Harbor Freight finally had a coupon for their 3-ton jack so I picked one up yesterday. I put it together and did a quick test. Seems well built and reasonably well thought out. I think I'm going to order this mount to put it on the wall of my trailer. I like how this mount has a threaded strap that holds it securely. Hopefully it won't bounce around or rattle too much.

Thanks! Didn't see the coupon for the jack. I have used my buddie's jacks in the dunes/desert and work amazing. The locking handle is great for moving the jack around and pushing under the cars.
 
I picked up a Badlands at the end of the season last year. I got a coupon from HF for a big discount (15-20% off a single item), then on just about the last day of the coupon the jack went on sale. Search online for the coupons then keep an eye on pricing.
 
i hate to say it but my snap on jack i've had for 20 years let go last week, but my 3 harbor freight jacks (1 ive had for prob 15 or so years) still going strong.
jacked up my firebird to pull 2 tires off, came home and it was on the ground. talk about disappointed and pissed. yea I should have put jack stands under it, but never expected it to just blow out, no oil on ground or anything, just won't hold pressure. glad i wasn't under it
 
I've been contemplating using scissor jacks lately. Super light, super simple, never leak, don't care about sand, and can easily lift 2-3 tons. You can make saddles for axles, tubing, trailing arms, whatever. Just stick it on some cribbing so it's close to the frame height and hit it with the same 19 or 21mm you're using for the lugs.

We had to use a OEM Scissor jack on the Coyote Flats trip because the HI-Lift Jack a guy had had no where to grab and the Raptor guy with the Badlands 3 Ton was mobbing the trails out front (too many road soda stops for him).

It worked, but was SUPER SKETCH the entire time. Love the 3 ton jacks, but yore mount better be rock solid secure (boat anchor)

The base has to be fairly large, but can be something flat and not nearly as bulky/heavy as a floor jack. Using a saddle on the top to wrap around a tube makes it almost impossible to come off:

But yeah, don't lift shit at a funky angle or anything... That can be said for any jack.
