I use these / Work Great !!!

You don't have any issues getting the thicker whips into the foam? I found I had to roll my thicker whips back and forth quite a bit to get them to seat into the foam.

Maybe trim the foam a little to make the larger whips fit.
Fishing rod holders is what these are in my trailer.
