What are folks using to store their whips in an enclosed trailer? I had a large PVC pipe holder in my last trailer and didn't love it. I remember seeing some photos of wall mount storage in some trailers before the site crashed. They looked kind of like a broom storage rack mounted horizontally but I can't find anything that looks like it will hold whips securely that are smaller diameter than brooms and mops. Appreciate any input and pictures would be fantastic!

Fishing pole holders are the best solution, many different types available at Bass pro shops. I have two j-type coat hooks on the wall and it holds at least 10 whips in a pile. Added a bungee cord to hold them together  as a bundle.

I had the horizontal ones like what is shown from Amazon in my last trailer and they worked okay but as they got worn the whips would slide back and forth as we traveled never had any come all the way out but close. My new trailer I am using the vertical mount type and on the top I drilled a hole in each end and use a small bungee just for safety and it works great. It holds both regular whips and a set of 5150 lighted whips with no problems.

Anyone have other suggestions for a whip storage rack? I did the fishing rod thing in my last trailer. It was OK but not great. Looking for something better in my new trailer. Thanks!

What's wrong with just leaving them in the car when you take them off ?

Fishing pole rack?

My old toy hauler had a 4” PVC pipe mounted just in front of the axle underneath…. It was mounted side to side with a cap and painted black so you hardly knew it was there. I thought it was a good option to keep it out of the way. It does make it easy to get to if you store your trailer anywhere but on your property though.

"WTF is a whip storage rack?"

That being said, all of the above suggestions (fishing pole rack, PVC pipe), I think, would rub a lot on the whips wouldn't they? That, to me, kinda defeats the purpose of having a special place made for them. Most whips now are clear plastic tubes with LEDs in them. I guess you'll have to get some special sleeves made to put your whips in (lined with seal fur, of course) B4 you put them in their own special whip rack in the whip rack room partitioned off in your trailer. SMH

I guess maybe the fishing pole rack wouldn't rub but "come on, man"

The 4" pvc is a possibility as well. I did that several trailers ago and mounted it to the ceiling of the trailer so it was out of the way. My new trailer is 8' inside so I would need to put it on a wall instead.

The fishing rod holder was good because the foam helped protect the whips. The issue I had with it is the thicker whips are a bit tricky to get them into the foam holder as they are way fatter than any fishing rod.

You sound like the kind of guy that needs some Silicone Instrument holders from the Medical Device industry. There are a variety of sizes and designs. I am in the process of finding the best ones for my brand new/used once Attitude and will follow up here when I find the right sizes and mounting hardware. An example, but not what I have seen/used in my past Spine Implant companies:

Uhhh… I love my fishing pole rack for all the whips. It keeps everything nice and organized and out of the way. I guess “the floor” is a better option for you?
