I’m looking for a gen to power a small toy hauler. Looking for something light and quiet. Probably a 3k to run ac and microwave at the same time. Been looking at the Honda EU3200i

Really? Good to know. I have a 15k AC also. I thought 3k would be enough. My predator 3500 with 3000 continuous will power my 12btu air conditioner but won't do it and my 1800 watt microwave.
It also won't run my 15k main air-conditioning on its own.
My trailer has a 12k and a 15k unit on the roof.
I'll add I have a decent inverter charger so I'd have to assume some of the amps are going to that as well.
Hope this helps.
Maybe I should just look for a lightweight 5k just to be safe.@HozayKwarvo runs a pair of Honda 2ks in parallel. I believe he can run one AC unit. My bet it's 15k as well. They are screaming![]()
Lmk what ya find. Predator has a 5k that is similar in size and weight of the 3500. Went to buy that but they were out so I grabbed the 3500.Maybe I should just look for a lightweight 5k just to be safe.
I’ll look at them. The ones I’ve seen have been pretty noisy thoLmk what ya find. Predator has a 5k that is similar in size and weight of the 3500. Went to buy that but they were out so I grabbed the 3500.
Little plastic wheels suck balls. A nice big tire kit would be great.
I have the 5k with the wheel kit. It’s okay I’m soft sand but still needs to be muscled around. I like that I can put my motorhome charger on a higher amperage and charge easily.Lmk what ya find. My concern with all of the unknown name gen’s is the noise and obviously the quality. Costco is great but I don’t want to have to return it. Have you used one? Would be nice to hear real world experience with them.Costco generator. The Firmans will all parallel together (according to Firman).
Why Costco? Any problems with it: exchange it. No questions asked.
Yep. I have a 2000w with at least 1500 hours on it. Uses a little oil now, but still works just fine. I’ve only changed the oil and knocked dust out of the air filter. Still starts first pull, never surges. My concern with all of the unknown name gen’s is the noise and obviously the quality. Costco is great but I don’t want to have to return it. Have you used one? Great to hear that. Exactly what I was looking forYep. I have a 2000w with at least 1500 hours on it. Uses a little oil now, but still works just fine. I’ve only changed the oil and knocked dust out of the air filter. Still starts first pull, never surges.
In-laws have a 3200w that has at least 500 hours. It’s definitely quieter than the 2000w. No issues so far.
If the noise isn’t satisfactory, just bring it back. Honda will always be quieter, but it’s 3x the price, so….
In-laws and I used to have 3200w Predators. Both have died. Mine died running the AC on a hot weekend. Died as I pulled into camp: was running fine, then let out a giant puff of oil smoke and quiet. No compression. In-laws went through a couple. The throttle motor would gum up with sand and carb issues. Every time they exchanged it, they had to buy a new warranty.
heard those are good too. How’s the noise factor?Westinghouse / Cummins 4500 remote start works great will run one ac use to run my all electric MohoView attachment 139799
Glamis rents has a stack of these for their RV rental fleet. I used one over a weekend. Worked great. Remote control start/stop was nice. I could roll it or drag it across camp but couldn't pick it up.Westinghouse / Cummins 4500 remote start works great will run one ac use to run my all electric MohoView attachment 139799
