USA to take over the Gaza Strip

What makes you think he's actually looking at waste in the .gov and are you okay with Elon's minions potentially building out the largest data harvesting operation in history ?
This:
"Well I think the fact they are putting out daily reports of waste they are finding might mean he’s looking at waste?"

Harvesting? When auditing for waste, access to the data (read only) is necessary. Otherwise, you have an organization that is not subject to checks and balances. And expecting Congress to do that job is delusional, they are the ones that created this mess, both sides of the aisle.

Mostly just small stuff they don't like and self determine as waste. And other than he bought bought into the presidency for $290 million (chump change for him), what actual authority does he have to suspend payments to federal contractors possibly including those who compete with his business interests, not to mention advocating for policies that would advocate for his business interests all while undermining the US dollar ?

I think its a stupid idea; but im certain trump isnt serious. He is signaling to hamas israel jordan egypt and iran to figure it out and fast.

I will take the uncertainty of trump over the certainty of kamala. Trump is the worlds ultimate douche; but so far mostly harmless compared to what the left HAS BEEN DOING AND WANTS TO CONTINUE TO DO

….i do believe there is a measurable chance that musk sees him self as a superhero movie Super villain, but you really think he can get away with something and hide from if not the cia the Mossad?

I don't understand how the hell a man that receives federal subsidies for his private business is working and advising for the government in any capacity. It's insane.

Yes, I signed several forms regarding this when I got hired with the state... Have to submit an economic interest form every year because I want the ability to use my contractor's license if something comes up.

Wow, a Lot of you need to step away from MSNBC..........the screaming at the sky.... "Orange man bad"......makes you look really foolish.

As opposed to giving citizens (corporate owners at that) access to government systems with zero oversight, security clearance, or legal means to do so? I'm not sure what MSNBC has to do with it. If you don't think this is "bad," it is you being foolish.

This kinda happens every day already.

For the record, I think it's dumb, but not for the reasons listed above.

Zero security clearance? He owns space x?

As far as oversight he IS THE OVERSIGHT!

Have you guys been paying attention to the stuff they are funding that they are using our money for?? That’s what is insane

Should we just not look for govt waste? Is there someone you would be okay with looking into it? I dont see how musk looking at expense reports within agencies is a national security nightmare. Im not trying to be an ass, just making polite conversation; i’d like to know exactly what worries you and what your alternative is.

My worry is; we are already seeing lots of fraud grift and even politicians enriching themselves and families. I fear this could lead to a mob mentality over reaction that the people back, meaning i fear giving THIS power could lead to giving too much power in the future as a reaction

The national debt hit 34T in Dec. '23. By mid-year '24 it hit 35T. It now stands at 36.4T.

Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results ain't working!

It is time to try something different and what some would call radical.

And as far as Musk being bashed for his role. You are right, Elon has a stake in the work he is doing, for free I might add. His wealth has come from the many successful businesses he has built and if the country doesn't course correct soon, he will suffer and possibly lose all he built. And I'm ok with those motives.

Please no...America sucks at nation building. And yes, this would absolutely cause the next 9/11 on a much grander scale, with 30-50% of America backing the terrorist.

It's The Art of the Deal in action...

Trump already knows what the real outcome Will be...

Exactly 1000000% the BULLSHIT that MSNBC spews and you people lap it up.............

After all the bullshit that has gone on for the last 4 years, the fact that a billionaire is looking into government waste is the problem?
I'm all for oversight but not by a private citizen who is currently receiving money from the same Gov he's supposedly investigating. It is a massive conflict of interest and it isn't just "waste" his team has access too. But you guys are right, fuck it, let a civilian run amok in there. What do we have to lose... he's a billionaire so he obviously knows best. Wonder if he's going cut some of the money he is receiving from the tax payers (only an estimated $15-20 billion so far).

The current auditors are Civilians who work for the departments in question. This whole “he’s a civilian” leg to stand on is one of the least persuasive arguments against oversight I’ve seen in a while.
