Wrecked sandcar on YouTube

I know the previous two owners of that car. It is a jp designs (just practicing). The story is that he got in a light head on collision with a Rzr at Gordon’s while cruising to test hill in 2nd gear, coming over a roller and neither of them saw each other, the front end basically fell off the car, must have already been cracked but who knows.

Not sure what the payout was but I know it was about a year long battle with insurance and they wanted 60k to buy it back from insurance. It went through auction at copart 3 times with a reserve set and they never met the reserve, they finally dropped the reserve and sold it to these clowns for 29k I believe.

That actually seems like a deal at 29?

for sure a hell of a deal at 29k, the only bad thing would be resale value since it is not being rebuilt by a big name fabricator. From what i have seen if its not a big name car builder the value drops alot.

How much do ya figure redoing the front end would cost? Did they get the mangled portion of the front end back? Shocks etc?

I have not watched the video, dont know the damage. But tubing cant cost alot and a shock is only a couple grand. In parts i would bet no more than 6k on the high side. Then add labor. At a big name shop i bet 10k would fix the front end.

Yep, everything but one wheel. Would be relatively simple for a fabricator to replace the broken tubes, reattach the front bulkhead, then reinforce it so it doesn't happen again.

The sheetmetal up front had some mangled bits as well (esp the hood), but those are optional.
