Got a late start in life.  My first dirt bike...1988 Honda cr80.  What's yours?

In High-school I bought a buddies 1975 YZ250 because he couldn't ride it in the sand for shit   and I spent more hours on it then he did at White Water (near Palm Springs).

Cool fact, first Mono-shock MX bike made, shock was huge and went under the damn gas tank LOL.

What a fun bike that was...only MX Bike I owned.

First was a 5hp Briggs & Stratton minibike. But dirtbike was Honda SL 100. I was 11 years old.

I remember as a little kid looking in the Sears catalog and begging my parents for a minibike.  Parents ignored me for 11 years.

My parents didnt ride. Wouldnt let me get a bike until i was 18.

First bike was a 1987 250R. My buddies had quads so i followed along.

Watched enough Crusty videos to decide i needed a bike.

Sold the quad and got a used 1993 CR250 at the age of 20 around the year 2000. (Mcgrath made that 03 frame famous)

1997 KX250 a few years later. (strong motor that year, lots of low end torque for a 2stroke...Emig won the title on it)

2003 Yz250 bought new in 2004 at Berts during a super sale. Paid $4000 for it. Back then they did a "name your price" thing. The salesman at the time suckered me into paying another 100 or 200 bucks. Almost walked out but glad i didnt. Was just a kid at the time and could tell he had the power to say no to the whole deal. I think they lost money on the deal but i guess its better than having a bunch of old yz250s sitting on the showroom floor.

Late start for me as well.

In 2006 I wanted to ride with my friends who went to the tracks on the weekends. Went down to the Yamaha dealer and picked up the best of the best yfz450.

The deal at the time was $66.00 a month.

Indian 50. I was about 4. 1978.

My dad bought it new for my sister 75-76.

Wish I still had it. Got passed down to my cousin. Aunts 3rd hubby sold it at a garage sale for $50 in the early 90s.

Same here. This was my second bike. First was a CT trail 70. That is a ride down memory lane. I would guess 72 or 73 when I was 9 or 10.

100cc Harley Davidson Dirtbike. I might have been 8 or 9. My uncle gave it to me and it scared the hell outta me the first time I rode it. Full throttle straight toward the fence. Luckily he'd turned the gas valve off so it'd run out of gas before I got into too much trouble. That bike taught me a lot of respect. I think the gear shift was on the right side. When I was 12 I had an air cooled CR500. That one taught me a lot more respect.

Honda SL70... then XR75... Hodaka Super Rat 125...Honda Cr125... Yamaha Yz175, that covered from 13 to 17 years old ... they were all so much fun, at the time I got the SL70, my Buddies were mostly riding CT-70's which I thought were lame as I wheelied past them. But now I want a CT-70 🙂

Other than a couple of home made Briggs and Stratton mini bikes and a home made Hodaka contraption..First real bike was a Sherpa S Bultaco.
