Here is the thing, You can change a belt in the rain, at night, during the day or even in a wind storm. Costs a little over $100 and takes maybe 15 minutes.
Something happens with the non-belt car your getting towed back by a guy with a belt.
In two years my non-belt car broke $3K worth of parts got towed out twice, meanwhile the entire rest of the group ( 10 cars with belts) didn't spend as much as me combined replacing belts. Now in the three years of driving a rubber band car two things have happened. One I have never changed a belt on a ride, not once. Second I don't get left behind or struggle to keep up or have to pick an alternate line to get up a hill.
Well, spit it out ...
