I'm pretty sure the goal here is go have something that looks cool, and be Easily embroidered on a hat or a shirt.

The RDP logo changed a number of times, before it became what it is today. Nobody came or went when it changed. :)
Agreed, sometimes an image update is enough of a spark to let people know your business is still alive and kicking. But as many have said, the forum has some issues that need to be addressed. It's a very dynamic thing and not something that could be fixed by Monday. The traffic is down, we all see that, unfortunately forums are slowly dwindling away, not just this one but in general.

A logo change isn't going to spark peeps who used to dump tech threads into this forum to revive their effort here.

A logo change isn't going to encourage guys that are starting an update of an old rig to modern tech to post the upgrades here.

A logo change isn't' going to spark a revival of build threads from old members who still build REDUCULAS shit. Supreme Air, 1badtoyfactory, ect.

Did anyone say it was?

Asking for a friend. 😉

From a social aspect yes, but in terms of creating and conserving content such as build threads tech info trip threads etc forums are far better than any social media out there..

Ironically I have done less tech / content on rdp over the last year or two then ever before but it’s still growing rapidly for some reason.

lol..

Dave it’s now your site. Do what you think is best for you and this amazing forum. Keeping up with the changing times is inevitable and I hope all the old school people like me can embrace this change. The success of RDP shows that you know what works in this biz. I encourage everyone to be patient and allow you and your team to tinker with the site to ensure it’s around for years to come.

Honestly I am still kinda in shock that nobody has thrown a value on that guys buggy in the other thread..

Normally I hate threads like that as it’s kind of a clever spam, but I let it go just to see how it turns out, and we are in bigger trouble than I thought.. 😳

It might be enough for someone who hasn't posted in a long time to browse through the forum and maybe reply to a thread or two. But yes I'd agree with your post. It'll take more than a logo change to turn this ship around. I can remember long ago that checking in every few days meant a few hours of reading new posts in Sandrail Tech, I feel those days are gone though there just isn't that many people who use and maintain a conventional sand rail anymore. The HELOC money of years past funded a good portion of these cars and this forum was just an extension of that, now that money and all of those cars are long gone so naturally the forum is going with it.

I do see that Dave has taken notice and is trying to do something to turn it around, I hope he succeeds. I don't do RDP, I just don't have the time.

Sand car owners are a dying breed, it's all about the finance and drive folks with a "Do it for the gram" attitude. Then translate into Spanish for the Ruta crowd and you have yourself a wiener. And then you will soak them for everything while killing the ISDRA and getting it shut down. Real talk.
