It's Saturday June 28th 2025.. What is everyone doing this weekend?

Have some grandkids over to play and swim because their parents are doing another over night prep hike getting ready to do mountain Whitney in a few weeks. Then some excavator repairs. Doing a little more prep work for a slab under the shade structure Bought myself a Craig’s list plate compactor for some prep work

Thats next on my list. Whats yOre way?
This was 225 for 10 hours. Wrapped when it was about 175°. Turned up to 250° for another 2 hours til it hit 203/5 internal. Resting in cooler now.
This was a pretty big butt. Use more rub than you think you need.
I like making tacos rather than sandwiches.

The Vista Optimist Club has a car show coming up, so I'm cutting some metal for raffle donations. Not big ticket items, but sometimes people are happy to just win something. I won some sweet Baja Design lights there last year. Every summer when car show season shows up I'm reminded of how my 1950 Willys Truck is still parked on the side of the garage, not getting worked on. Oh well, I've got buggy mods to do this summer.

I was trying to come up with a mechanic's themed charcoal starter; thinking some car guys might like it. But the dang thing is just too heavy to be practical, so probably going to scrap it. Not every product is a home run, haha.

Comes in at 6.5 lbs without charcoal! It's 16 gauge, so just too thick and too big, but that's the metal I had on hand and I was trying to get this donation off the to do list. I was toying with a smaller version, but it seemed like it wasn't going to hold enough charcoal. Then I over did it. Haha
