Is theft an issue camping during the week

I'll chip in on security.
My old buggy had a toggle switch for ignition, so, anyone could start
it and drive off.
Yes, I had a cable securing all the toys.
But, cables can be cut.
I pulled the VW coil wire out and switched it with a plug wire.
VW does not start on one cylinder.
Gave it to my daughter when I bought the Funco.
The Funco had a regular car alarm. (Really)
I parked the Funco at the Glamis Store, and when someone touched
the tire, the alarm sounded off. Funny stuff.

Run a cable through everything possible and lock the coolers up in a trailer or RV. Thief's go for unlocked stuff and a bike or SxS unlocked will get pulled out of camp with a long rope. Nowadays it seems light solar lighting on a motion sensor would be good.

For years we’d get our worst gas can, clean it up and slap a VP sticker on the side of it. The camp would take turns adding ingredients to it, we had piss, sugar, used cooking oil and various other goodies laying around. We’d top it off with the oldest gas we had and place the jug just inside the camp perimeter.
Anytime the jug was gone in the morning we’d go say howdy to the surrounding camps, see who was up all night rescuing a broke down quad in the dunes.
Good times.

I see a few recomend cable but you ever buy cable and see the hardware guy cut it?? It’s pretty easy and quiet.

Chain makes noise. Sure it’s bulky and can be cut too but it makes noise.I use to use chain when I camped near people and I also had some of them string firecrackers you pull and they pop. They work great to tie up so if something moved they popped.

They’d scare the crap out of you if done unexpectedly.
