Is AI a threat?

You remember the world before the internet and then after?

How you did things differently when Smart Phones connected to the internet?

AI has been around a longtime, its development only continues to snowball and now Wireless Transport Speeds, Device Capabilities and the connection between Mobile Phones OS and AI are about to explode...its already happening. The flip is coming.

Learn AI now, tell your kids to start understanding it they don't already. I'm not talking about chatGPT to write their history paper either - LOL

Methinks the kids will know it better than the olds, who will be displaced the same way when new technologies emerged, first computers, then the interwebs etc . . .

Only if you don't get ahead of it. 😉

Biggest displacement will be drone jobs. If your job requires creativity, independent thought, or physical skills, I think you’re fine.

Sorry cashiers and burger flippers.

What is my purpose?

You pass Butter.

The way I see AI taking jobs left and right leads me to believe that it's going to be the beginning of communism. It may get to a point where a huge percentage of jobs have been taken over by AI and now citizens just get a monthly check from the government from AI doing all the work. You can't have a country full of people and have machines do the jobs.

That's not happening.

And then again, it is...

Ever see a car assembly line these days? The freaking robotics are unreal. That's why the fit and finish is Perfect, compared to a 67 Chevelle! 🤣

This. ^^^^ Especially if they keep asking for raises!!!

The job market is already a Very different place for our kids. 👍🏼

This is really the question... There will be displaced people with nothing to do... What do we do with them?

But... Keep in mind that the fastest supercomputer in the world (Frontier) is about equivalent to an intelligent human. A human runs on about 20 watts and takes up a very small amount of space compared to said supercomputer:

I blame those same kids voting for morons who keep selling us down the river to megacorps and PE firms. Whenever a politician says "this will make sure..." anything, they're just standing up some gov't bureaucracy that only be navigated by an entire compliance team no mom/pop can afford.

Don't put em all in the same basket...

There are a number of peeps on here that know my son and daughter, and will tell you how stand up they are! Same with their friends. There are a Ton of good kids out there, but those kids just don't make the news!

My daughters boyfriend was a wild land fire fighter for three years, was a smoke jumper last summer, and is currently looking into law enforcement as a career.

My son is an Eagle Scout...

At a Scout meeting one night, I overheard one kid tell another kid...

This is like a young republicans meeting!!!

Made my heart sing...

😁

I actually have a lot more faith in my (our apparently) kids' generation than I do the 2 previous. Good lord, the butt-hurt is strong with 25-40 year olds.

I work with AI everyday. Some of the work is to remove the human element to reduce error and workload. The other part is how to use AI to combat criminals and their use of AI.

If people knew how criminals are using AI, you'd never trust anything again.

AI gets more interesting the more you learn and play with it...kid stuff.

My question...

I want o go to Glamis Dunes in Aug 2025, I want to spend $40 per day for food but do not want to cook, I also need a trailer to rent that can be dropped off at camp. Please give me a list of business and the BLM rules so i can have a safe trip...

The AI Answer...

Based on your request to visit Glamis Dunes in August 2025 with a $40/day food budget (without cooking) and needing a trailer rental delivered to your campsite, here's some information to help plan your trip:

Food Options (Without Cooking):
Meeting a $40/day budget without cooking in Glamis might be challenging, especially as prices can be high in this remote location. However, here are some options to explore:
  • Boardmanville Trading Post
: This bar and grill offers pizza, beer, and more.
  • Red Feather Off-Road Market & Cafe
: A market with a cafe serving burgers and ice cream, along with an off-roading area.
  • Glamis Beach Store
: A general store that sells provisions like groceries and beer.
  • Sweet Marie's Glamis
: This family-owned business offers food, snacks, and a small convenience store.
  • Food Trucks: Keep an eye out for potential food trucks in the area. Some have been known to operate seasonally or for special events.

Trailer Rental with Delivery:
  • EL CAJON RV RENTALS IN GLAMIS
: This company specializes in delivering and setting up RV and trailer rentals at Glamis campsites.
  • Campnstyle
: This company delivers and sets up self-contained trailers at campgrounds in Glamis, Gordons Well, Buttercup, and Ogilby.

BLM Rules for a Safe Trip:
To ensure a safe trip, be aware of the following BLM rules:
  • A permit is needed for primary street-legal vehicles used for transportation to the recreation site, and it must be displayed correctly.
  • All vehicles, including motorcycles, require a whip mast and a red/orange flag mounted 8 feet from the ground.
  • Speed limits are 15 mph within 500 feet of specific roads and access points in the Gecko and Roadrunner recreation sites.
  • Saving or reserving campsites is not allowed.
  • Burning hazardous materials and firewood containing metal is prohibited. Check for current fire restrictions as a burn permit may be required.
  • Glass beverage containers are prohibited.
  • Operating a vehicle or OHV on public lands while consuming alcohol or having open containers is prohibited. Those under 21 are not allowed to possess alcohol.
  • Quiet hours are from 10 pm to 6 am; avoid unreasonable noise from audio devices or motorized equipment during this time.
  • OHVs must have an approved muffler, brakes, and spark arrester. Headlights and at least one red taillight are necessary for night operation.
  • Operating OHVs in a manner likely to cause environmental damage is prohibited.
  • Discharging firearms, fireworks, or other weapons is unlawful in the recreation area.
  • Animals must be on a leash no longer than 6 feet.
  • There is a 14-day camping limit.
  • Parking or camping is not permitted within 10 feet of the pavement on Gecko Road.
Important Notes for August:
  • August in Glamis is typically very hot, with average highs potentially reaching 108°F. Be aware of the heat and potential for heat exhaustion, stay hydrated, and plan outdoor activities for cooler times of the day.
  • Afternoon thunderstorms are possible in August and can bring wind, lightning, and heavy rain.

Thats actually one of my customers, Oak Ridge Lab.

The reason they use computers like this is because the time it takes to perform calculations versus a human performing them. ORNL is a nuclear lab that works more on the scientific side of Nuclear energy versus weapons. I have spoken with many of the data scientist at the labs and they are able to extract data in such a short time by entering the calculations into the super computer to solve.

Yep. Supercomputing can do amazing things.

But to get to the point of performing everything as humanity does in similar form factor: that's a looooong way off.
