Just showing off one of the fleet eh?
Just figured I'd show off my old dude with the new 'modern' drive system that I had mentioned in my post.Just showing off one of the fleet eh?![]()
Highly unlikely you'll be able to register a gas cart in CA unless it was somehow grandfathered in. Also unless you do an engine swap, the FE290/350 can only go so fast.I vote gas Club Car.
There are a million super cheap aftermarket options for em, and batteries (for an electric car) are fucking expensive!
Oh sure...
You can go to any repair shop (close to a golf course) and get take outs at a reasonable price (these are what I use in my toy hauler), but how convenient is that?
Gas stations are everywhere. Pretty much zero maintenance on a gas car.

Yeah, batteries can be spendy. But there are always ways around that. I'm running Duracell 8v FLAs in my cart from Sam's Club for under $900. They're really decent batteries made by East Penn. The Interstates from Costco are made by Johnson Controls and are complete garbage. A new set of Trojan T875s can be $1200 but if you know where to look (marketplace), they can be had oftentimes for similar to the Duracells from Sam's. Yeah, a 72v lithium is going to set you back close to $2k but for ultimate power and range, that's where it's at.
48V LiFePO4s are in the $800 range these days as well. Lots of options for electric these days and it's getting cheaper by the year.Highly unlikely you'll be able to register a gas cart in CA unless it was somehow grandfathered in. Having a plate on the cart makes for a lot less ability to deny your use of the vehicle.Define register?
I don't remember registering the last one I had?![]()
Don't forget the HUGE Wing, MASSIVE Stereo (to be heard 6 counties over), curb feelers on both sides, Shag carpet, hanging dice etc..Many Golf carts don't have a VIN, you need to had that added to get it registered. Once you have that, you need to have Brake lights, Turn Signals, Windshield Wipers, and Seat Belts. Of course you need DOT headlights as well.
