I'm a big fan of recreational Starlink and have used our Gen2 (standard actuated) kit in Glamis and camping all over for a couple of years now. Other than a broken cable (likely from packing up and winding too tightly/kinking) we have never had a problem and often have a dozen to two dozen devices on it in camp any given weekend in G.

We are finally tired of Spectrum and anything else offered in our area. Already in transition of giving up their cable in exchange for streaming services and would also like to shitcan their internet service as well. I work remote a lot and require a stable connection and VPN that gets pissed off at Spectrum 1Gig at least a couple times each day and requires reset...

If you do use Starlink as a dedicated home internet provider are you happy with it? Which Gen are you using (2, 3, 4, 4x)? Are you using additional routers/mesh nodes? Any issues or feedback?

Absolutely not looking to continue the Frontier/Verizon/Spectrum/etc etc cycle... have had them all and their best "gig fiber" services. Looking for real feedback on Starlink used as a dedicated service at home.

Sure do, after having the ability to connect to yours and others in G and tired of paying COX $200 bucks a month for shotty shit service I decided it was time.
12-14 Devices hooked up to it at a time and it hasn't skipped a beat, no buffering, lagging, nothing. BEST thing I ever did!! I have the gen 4 and now a mini for the G and camping trips. No additional router. When I purchased both the gen 4 and the mini they had a deal for unlimited service for life @ $120.00 a month for the stationary plan. The mini was for $160.00 for the travel but as you know you can put it at idle and only pay 5 bucks a month.

I say do it!!

In the same boat, looking to leave Spectrum and gp Starlink as well for both home and mobile. Thank you, Brian, for getting us hooked.

I've been using Starlink for about 3 years now as my home internet, and it's been great. We've lived in a newer community in the northwest Valley for the last couple of years where they're still building houses, so I'm not sure if that's part of the reason the other internet providers seem to have frequent outages.

The neighborhood Facebook page is constantly full of people complaining that their internet is down, but our Starlink hasn't missed a beat.

We pay a little more, but I honestly think the service is better than the local providers around here. I also like Starlink as a brand (not trying to make this political at all). I like that everyone pays the same price without all the sales tactics, promotional rates, or having to negotiate every year.

As for internet speeds I have no idea how it performs, all I know is I can use my cloud based software for work with a you tube video in the background, while my girlfriend streams something while on facetime. That's all I'll ever need from it.

We take it camping to the dunes and such, but I'm looking at buying one of the smaller units with a mount to take it on offroad adventures in our bronco.

Yes for our home. And a mini for travel. Just throw it up on the dash and it works anywhere i drive.

Yes we have had Starlink for 3 years now and couldn’t be happier beats the heck out of Spectrum we lose connection early morning about 3 to 4 for a couple of seconds thinking it probably is switching satellites. Like it so well at the house we got the mini also for travel and camping

We have been talking about doing this. So we would need service at our home in Phoenix, Mountain home up north, and the motorhome. Should I be buying two dishes? One for the main house and then move the mini between the mountain home and moho? I believe the roaming package to do all of that is around $160 per month?

I've been paying the $160/month Roam plan and just taking my main Starlink everywhere. I think I'm going to permanently mount it on the house, switch it back to the $120/month residential plan, then pick up a Mini for travel. I'll just start and pause the Mini's Roam plan whenever I need it. Seems like the better way to go instead of dragging the main dish around all the time.

Used Starlink for the house for a few years, as the only other option was basically one step up from dial up. I was super happy with stable connection and averaged 100-150 mbps (my speeds were significantly faster in the desert). Once fiber optic was finally buried in my neighborhood I switched to have higher speed. Starlink now stays in the moho.

I have fiber and Starlink, when fiber goes down I can barely tell the difference. I usually only figure it out when I try to remote in. Mostly use Starlink as a backup.

Also have Starlink on Rv roof

Several of my customers in kingman use it to run their business/warehouses off of.
