Happened over NY and allot of folks report hearing it, even feeling it at camp.

What can cause this large of a crater? How much material and how dangerous to those 100 feet away.

What do you think about it?

I was in wash 4 last weekend, got there New Years Day, it was me and 2 buddies with 3 trucks/ trailers. It was either that Thursday night, or Friday night that I went in to take a shower, and when I got out, before I could get in bed I heard a loud bang and the trailer shook. I went out in my chonies to look, cause I thought someone had hit my truck. My two buddies were outside doing the same thing. We thought someone may have floated an acetylene bomb over our camp, or somebody got ahold of a concussion grenade??

a dozen kids digging in the sand or a grip of Tannerite... both equally harmful, potentially fatal, to anyone within 100ft

I did a 5 gal sparkletts jug with vp110 and an m1000 at the top of a dune at dumont once. Made a similar crater.
I got a photo of the explosion/fireball. It used to be one of the photos on the random photo collage on the old gd.com page

Someone did this a few years ago too. Almost same size crater even.

I can't belive anyone in Glamis did something that wasn't recorded by 10 phones and posted to 20 social media sites.
They were smart enough to a) pull it off without witnesses (I'm doubtful lol, there is a video somewhere on a phone) and b) not get hurt.

Give it time....a video will get posted someday LOL

Pictures were posted all over social media several days ago. Crusty's late to the party. Haven't seen any video though.

That’s a pretty serious explosive. You’d be looking at jail time for that in California.

My BIL works for the studios. One year...

He brought an explosives guy to the desert with us. He had this stuff called primer cord. They wrapped it around an old dirt bike and BLAM! There wasn't much left of that bike! :ROFLMAO:

Then he filled up a (what looked like) a giant trash bag full of gas, and lit it up with the primer cord.

That was a Fucking impressive fire ball!!!!!!!!!!!!!😁😁😁

We were in the back of 4 and it felt like someone hit my trailer

Primer or det cord? I've seen pizzas made of det cord that launch tires into the sky. Part of sheriff cadet training is to observe a 300' or so length of det cord detonate and be able to tell which end started the explosion.

Man it was a few decades ago now. Maybe det cord??

Sure was fun stuff to play with though. Same kinna deal...

I was in my trailer the first time he blew something up. I also felt like someone crashed into my trailer! lol

Remember the first XXX movie with Vid Diesel? This was the guy that did all those explosions. Fun stuff! (y)
