Did you still use the 8” coil and add the 10” bypass? Who did the work? My car is at SU right now and they are fitting both a 10” coil and bypass but they have to lift the mid rail and shock mounts plus new arms to make it all fit.
 
Ed at SU did the suspension work.
King Adam did the body

If I recall the fronts are normally 9in.
I got all new shocks and bypasses - custom made 4 tube bypasses for front ( they were a 1 off )

Kings lengths don’t work very good for SU and fox stopped making the small ones. Hence why Ed has to raise mounts

Either way, with new arms yes they can fit, car will be wider, but that just makes it drive even better and gives more travel

That makes sense now. Unfortunately my car already had kings all the way around and Bypasses in the rear already. I am pumped hearing about how much better it handled and the ride quality improvement.

I have a SU UL as well , with the ls3 was it still 5 link in rear ? If so do you have any close up shots ?
 
Finally got around to working on it

Old CVs and axles were cooked. I didn’t bother cleaning the CVs to see if anything was salvageable for spares.
New CVs and axles went in smoothly.
The car came with 6.80 front tires and 14.50 rears. They’re pretty beat up so I ending buying a set of used 8.50 fronts and 16.50 rears on FB marketplace.
I couldn’t get the old front tires off the front wheels so off to the tire shop tomorrow. Hopefully I’ll get the newer tires on and post a new pic tomorrow.

Still need to take the shocks apart and rebuild them and figure out how to adjust the shifter. It’s hard to get it in gear, a lot of play, and it started going into reverse when shifting to 2nd without pressing down on the shifter

If I can make a recommendation for the shifter, I would ditch the one you have and go with a pro am unit. I tried adjusting the old one and could never get it right.

I was going to reach out to you to ask about the shifter since you have a similar car. Getting a new shifter is not in the budget right now so will have to make this work for the next few trips to St Anthony and Little Sahara.

I had a ProAm shifter in my last car and it was great. Would definitely consider this in the near future

We got it to run up Olds with a full-tilt Outfront 2.5 foot to the floor at the shittiest middle section with basic valving and just turning screws. 5-link cars have always handled well, just not handled whoops well.
