RVs to tow 7,500 pounds

We recently sold our camper, and are now in the market for an RV that can tow a 24’ enclosed with our long travel v8 rail, a quad or two, and some dirtbikes. I want to be safe with capacity. My budget is tight as far as the criteria is concerned, but I don’t need perfection and don’t mind elbow grease.

What RVs around $20,000 are rated to tow over the regular 5,000 pound limits that we see in most RVs?

I’ve been looking for these and they are hard to come by! Don’t they have frame extensions or are they a solid frame from bumper to bumper?

I am actually messaging someone about one of these right now for $15,000, but is a 1996 so it has the mechanical 8.3. Have you been happy with it?

Been pretty happy with it. Owned it for 3 years and only issue was it lost prime 1 trip and wouldn't start. Routine maintenance stuff since then.

I've looked at a few..

I have a 2007 W22 with the 8.1 and 6 speed Allison. Pull just under 6k lbs and it pulls great. The 6 speed is the ticket in my opinion. 5th & 6th gear are geared real close together .71:1 and .61:1
I believe the 6 speed was introduced in 2006.

Another vote for workhorse - i tow prob 7 to 7500 with a 2008 W22 chassis, no issues. Your comment on the frame extension -maybe on the longer coaches?

The W24 chassis is somewhat rare and on the longer units, 36 plus feet and is usually an option on a given model, i.e - you can get the same floor plan with either the w24 or w22 chassis- the W24 also has a beefer Allison trans...these units also have the 22.5 wheels vs the 19 inch, typically...

For 20k - Something under 34 foot is ideal. 2006 was the first year of the 6 speed, but the 5 speed might be fine?

I've looked at a few..

I have a 2005 Pace Arrow on that chassis. I did have the frame and hitch reinforced to be safe. I tow a 24ft box with a Funco and 2 Motorcycles in it, along with 50 gallons of gas and another 50 gallons of water, I would guess it is near 8k in weight. Zero issues and have been running this set up for 9 years now. The 8.1/Allison combo is good, too bad it is no longer an option out there.

As mentioned, mine (on the left) is a 36ft workhorse chassis I believe W22 with 8.1L and Allison trans. It's been a monster. I love every inch of it and bought it right here on GD.COM!

The rear section of it is definitely extended from the actual frame for the coach itself but the tow package had been re-enforced with an X brace or V can't remember but I've inspected it down there and looks solid! I wouldn't be afraid to tow a 24ft and may be going that direction soon, too.

I've got an 04 W22 34ft Monaco Monarch. 8.1 with the Alison 5spd. 500% better then the 02 F53 v10 aweful RV.
I tow a heavy 22ft box with a SxS, 30gal water and 30gal fuel in under the box.
The RV had a 5k hitch on it when I got it, I swapped to a 10k hitch. Factory full chassis to the end not a cheap extension like the F53. The 10K hitch added 3 bolts more then the 5K all to factory holes. Easy upgrade. I ordered a hitch for a C5500 kodiak, perfect fit.
