Race Radios - School Me - Music Quality

NEITHER will give you any good base. Both systems are still a communication radio not a stereo quality listening device. I was a Rugged Radio for years and finally stepped up to top of the line PCI Trax and i was very disappointed in the quality of the sound in the helmet speakers. The extra grand at PCI didn't get me anything different in sound than the cheaper Rugged stuff. Now the PCI quality is 2x better than the RR equipment though.

You would think with todays technology someone would reinvent the wheel for the non racer community who want music quality first and communication second.
PCI isn’t waterproof and rugged radios are…ip65 I believe is the rating. If you will only be racing dry then pci seems a little better to me.

Ended up with Rugged M1/696 combos in both cars. That said, seriously considering Cardo for sound quality as well as automatic integration with the MavR. It takes you out of the VHF game but allows ~14 people with the system to communicate effectively and the sound quality beats anything else out there aside from similar brands of on-road coms.

How well does it work in terrain? Always been curious how a system like that does in the dunes.

The guys I talked to with the Cardo headsets said that they would lose each other when they went over a big dune.

I swear I must be the only person that doesn't like to listen to music when I dune or even drive sometimes. Even commuting on a motorcycle for decades. I tried listening to music while riding, I hated it. I want to hear the car or bike.

Driving in a car somewhere? Music or audiobook.

Driving anything balls to the walls? Stereo off.

It costs a little more, but having the stereo for music has been awesome. The Rugged STX Stereo Intercom really takes UTV communications to the next level. It allows you to easily talk with passengers through the intercom with automatic music dimming, connect to a two-way radio for external communication, answer phone calls, and stream music directly from your Bluetooth device.

The combination of clear communication and integrated music makes it a great upgrade for anyone spending a lot of time in their UTV.

No your not. I'm the same way. I do have a stereo in the car but I only turn it on when we stop.

I use the stereo in the car to drown out all the voices in my head!
I thought that was normal? :ROFLMAO:

Same. Car ride ok but in the sandcar. Nope. I wanna hear the car and all it's noises.
