Alumicraft.. what’s the story and the kinds?

Any info on these bearings? I would like to replace them and not finding anything on them yet
I take it those are VW type 1 hubs?

Edit: just saw the above responses. Yes that's probably what they are

All bearings are getting replaced, new axles are on order, B pillar added and the prep continues. My buddy at Sandburg Speedshop is saving my butt on going through this car. This usually takes me a few weeks to go through a car when I get it and he’s knocking it out in what’s been a week. Might even be finished in time for my trip down to glamis for Halloween. I wasn’t even planning on taking a car since I’m comp cutting at Gilmore’s, might just have to make some time to play too! 🤞

Slightly off topic…

Would it be possible for you to post up a thread of all of the cars you have been through since getting into this hobby?

You’ve had some of the nicest cars in Glamis and it seems like I missed a few. The most memorable for me until this thread was a blue Amplified, I believe.

Not so much for bragging reasons but more for seeing the evolution of one Man’s Hobby.

His 1972 PricKfor was an industry changer, the Gadget Grove prototype producing more HP and better gas mileage was just one of the advancements introduced to the sport on the car.

If you know, you know......

You can't touch the heritage, style, or performance package of a Cooley Car in the sand IMO.... but I'm admittedly very biased!
I think the Alumicraft cars FLAT OUT ROCK !!!!!

I agree with the way you think and your passion for them !

You will have fun Crawling BUT I GURANTEE you are gonna have Sand Withdrawals !!!!!

When they put in the Turboencabulator is when things really took off!

Anyone know what wheels are on this car? They are really sharp.
The owner is on here @SANDFORME , I'm pretty sure they are Tatum's wheels.

Been wanting to get into another sand car since I sold my SU Sand Pro 2 mid engine 2 years ago. Have always loved the Alumicraft cars. Mission accomplished yesterday as I stumbled into the absolute perfect car for me. Nice light 2250 pound car with class 10 suspension components and doors so I can get my tired a$$ in the car easier.

One of the coolest cars John built. Glad someone snagged it. It's an awesome ride.
