Summer Upgrade to the SU

Can your team resurface the flywheel? Also what is the cost on for the clutch disc and PP? It’s based on the older Vw output shaft. 9” and stage 3
I’m not at the shop but from memory. Disc is $130, stage 3 9” pressure plate is 265. Fly  wed heel resurfacing is 85. But that takes a day as we send it to a local machine shop

Making steady progress this week. Finally got the motor almost together. Have to take one of the valve covers to Jones to have him weld on a new bung.

Pulled the 2D and it will be going to Folts this week for a regear and refresh.

Pulled panels off yesterday and they will be getting wrapped in solid red as will the roof.

RIP backdraft logos

Pulled all the internal panels out that were covered in tweed and put in them in the trash

Small update, trans is back from Folts. Went with a different R/p and 4th gear. Calculations show I should gain 20 MPH. Just received and installed a Kennedy double disc clutch and engine harness is in. PCI had a great deal on the GPS so installed that as well. Pics to follow. Been an expensive summer.

New wrap came out pretty good. Definitely looks cleaner and glad to be rid of the backdraft logo

New block arrived and all the parts are ready to go to BCM for assembly. P2R gives CSS a brand new block and has them install their cylinder support. Super beefy. Should have no problem holding 550+ whp

Mind sharing Dardan's contact info? Do you recommend him?
Sure. And I do recommend him, but to be honest I am not sure is work on Subarus. I have been very happy with his tune.

What rods are you using? I hear that certain j series motors came with forged rods do you know how to identify them?

I run Wiseco pistons and P2R rods. I am not aware of any j series that came with forged rods. You can usually do both for about 2k.

Do you mind sharing how much the trans re-gear/refresh was ?
of course. I went through Dave Folts Transmission and it was roughly 4600. It has made all the difference in driving. Previously I could only dune in 3rd and 4th and even going up olds I would be in 4th and hitting the rev limiter about 3/4 of the way up. Now it cruises in 2nd and 3rd all day plus going up the hills I am in 3rd at 5K RPM when I reach the top.
