Just wondering what changes if any that Y'all are gonna make this upcoming season because of Fuel.

For me Personally when I go It will be for more than 3-4 days because the 1000 just in Fuel I might as well stay there longer and enjoy.

Also thinking of maybe solar panels too not run the Genny as much as I do but that is up in the air at this point.

Will Try to do trips up by my house more often then go to Glamis as JV is 1/4 the fuel cost for me or just ride out of my driveway.

As of right now my Glamis trips will be Just Veterans and Probably the Old school Buggy Roundup and thats all thats Planned at this point.

Just wondering if I am the ONLY one having to adjust for the current situation?

Yea.......  @ $7/Gal (or possibly more by desert season), Im really thinking hard about it.  Might be hard for the folks in my group to get more than 1 or 2 vacation days off to spend a week or more in the desert.  Those are mostly spent in the summer with family vacations.

Vets for sure, but probably some off weekends (which kills using holidays to buffer the vacation days).

I would think the majority of people are going to be effected and reduce any and all vacations. I’d expect less river trips this summer for those who go. Less family summer trips for those who do those. The desert is pretty far out and I’m afraid we are going to have bigger issues then can I afford to fill up the RV for the desert.

AAA just came out and said their study has shown people are cutting back in several ways. Cutting back on discretionary trips to the store. Trying to group places they need to go into one trip. Cutting back on going out dining.

If people are doing that now, then I’d say filling up an RV or tow vehicle with $400 is gas to just get somewhere, is probably going to stop or be less frequent. Then if your destination requires more gas for a boat or some sort of recreational vehicle, that will only add to the decision to not go, or go less.

Right new we see this as only a gas pricing issue and a inconvenience. But wait until the petroleum cost his the plastics industry. Wait until we start seeing transportation issues with getting products and food to the stores. Wait until our country admits they allowed our grain surplus to be shipped overseas and we have lost our reserves and the wheat production they have yet to discussed hits us.

Gas and going to the desert, river or that family reunion is going to be the last thing we are discussing.

It already has not just desert trips but trips in general, we are still planing to go but but staying longer as stated above.

If this summer travels are any indication, don't expect to see lees people in the dune because of fuel prices. Rv parks are busy everywhere we go, seems more so than last year. We have been surprised as that is not what we thought we would see. So far diesel has been averaging right at 5.80 a gallon. Obviously, we are not in California.

Have a feeling GDS will take full advantage of the increased gas pricing and raise the price to store by a noticeable amount. So that is going to let me know what the overall plan is going to be.

I'm planning on doing the usual but seeing a more Mad Max vibe after the impending Civil War and collapse of Western Civilization.

But hey, as long as there's no mean tweets and anal sex Whoppers from Burger King....

i might just be taking next season off about 4k in fuel each way from here and the air fare has almost doubled

These Fuel Prices are Amazing, Hopefully it efects Dumont on Halloween,  If these does not effect the Dunes this year with people staying home, Then this will be the last Halloween we go out,

But taking full advantage of fuel prices,  will do more trips with hopefully less people out there,

our change will be less impulsive/day rides for ohv and boating, still making the big trips and maybe make them a day or more longer to maximize the $pend

It's definitely got me concerned. Stopped traveling at $4.00gal back in the Obama days. FJB! Peace
