Just sold my car and I was curious where folks advertise and what success you've had from where? I'm sure some depends on type of car, cost, location, etc. I knew being in Oregon would eliminate many potential buyers. Mine was what I would consider a mid-tier price and was listed for $58k. I advertised it in several places and it took 60 days to sell it.
1) GD.com - I got a somewhat non-serious lowball offer that many of you saw as he posted directly here on the board. But he's a self-proclaimed Raiders fan so obviously he has low expectations on life in general so will give him a pass :classic_laugh: :classic_laugh: . Got two other serious inquiries and one other offer but couldn't come to terms. Overall, the GD.com inquiries where good folks that know there stuff.
2) I listed in several locations on Craigslist. I did not receive one single inquiry from a CL ad but what the heck, they are free.
3) I paid $100 to list it on Str8up. Not one single inquiry from this site :classic_sad:
4) I also listed it on Facebook Marketplace and got many inquiries here. I got a few inquiries from the general listing but not too many. When I tagged the ad on the Dune Hooligans page I got several local inquiries. When I tagged it on the Sand Car Buy Sell Crew page a week or so ago I got a ton of inquiries and I think 4 offers. Once I updated it to Pending two people wanted to come get it that day and buy it out from under the guy I made a deal with. I don't roll that way and turned them down. Had a sizeable deposit as well but wouldn't do it regardless. If I make a deal and shake someone' s hand that means something to me.
Coincidently enough, it was a post in another thread from the above mentioned Raiders fan that brought the Sand Car Buy Sell page to my attention. Go figure. I guess Raiders fans' aren't totally worthless after all :classic_biggrin:
Anyway, that's been my recent advertising and sale result. Curious what others are finding?
