I haven’t been able to find much so was hoping maybe someone here has done it. I have a 2006 WW fifth wheel 3505. It has the single rear bed that you manually raise and lower with the assist from gas shocks. I want to raise the height of the bed so I can stop changing tires to fit my Pro R in. It looks like I just disconnect the shocks from the bed and the bed should come out. Looks like it could be pretty heavy! Looks like if I lower the mounts on the sides of the bed this will raise the bed for me? Anywho, just wondering if anyone here has done it and has tips. Thanks!

yes, it very heavy, have 4 people. I did this years ago and it worked. I don't remember how I did it but something with a new 2x4 down the sides and it raised the height of the bed when folded up.

Yes, this sounds about right. By using a 2x4 it will raise the bed 3.75 inches keeping the OEM roll down blind but would need to remove the valance. Since I have to remove the Valance anyways, I’m thinking of removing the OEM blind and just put in a black out curtain. Then I can use a 2x6 so the bed will raise 5.75 inches. For the most part the bed itself isn’t used for sleeping. It stays up but I store things up there. I just want to keep the bed functional.

I recently HAD to remove mine, cause the freaking bracket bolts pulled out of wall!!!

It was hanging by the seat belt thing anyway, so I pulled all the shocks and let it hang there dangling by itself.

Got some ratchet straps and a harbor freight flat dolly, and me and a couple other guys set it on the dolly and strapped it tight to it. It was easy to move around at that point.

It's not really heavy, but it is Fucking awkward!!! Make sure you have at least two other strong guys around to help. 👍🏼

Wow! I can’t believe that seat belt didn’t rip off the wall or out of the bed!
