I'm working on "The Animal" (name by the PO's dad who is now gone...).  It has a SA w/bus reduction gears and it will have a Nissan 2.4 Z24 motor (100-125HP).

Is is a street-legal  pan-framed desert buggy.  I plan on going to the dunes with it, once or 2x a year.  I would expect the weight to be below 1,500#.

I just stumbled on to this.  The one tire has a rating of just over 1,000#, per tire.  They have multiple sizes.  These are significantly cheaper than a "real" paddle...about $200 on Summit.... $10 Oversize Shipping.

I did not find any ratings for these.

Thoughts?

there's really no reason it would not work

only two real issues that come to mind overall buggy weight (most SxSs are 1500-2000lbs) and the paddle cut may be short but with SxSs in the 100-200hp range you are still right in the mix with both

another thing is most sxs tires are for a 8 maybe 10" wide wheel.  Not sure how they would fit on a buggy 12" wide wheel.

Really just boils down to the sand cars horsepower / weight / and the width of the sand cars wheels - if all are relatively the same to a side by side they will be fine.

When I was grabbing oil for my 250r, I checked out the tensor paddle tire setup. I kinda liked them but I feel the paddle is a little to small for the setup I have...su prolite 4seater around 1600lb ish loaded, but with a 485hp 13.b rotary turbo, I think I'll wait to get some used blasters or padla's for a better grip in the sand..20221210_121320.jpg
