US captures Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro and wife in raid. WTF?

It is a win for POTUS Trump and his administration.
Huge US flex of international law for individuals indicted in US Courts.
Drug Cartels, time will tell....

Main advantage is Oil industry and creating a Democratic system there vs a regime that was supported by Iran and Cuba.
Their Oil is cheap to extract but costs a lot more to refine. If we can get their oil on the legit market it will help out our own oil prices. Not because we will buy it but it can compete with ours. From what I was reading we do not have the refineries to refine their type of oil, we are set up to refine sweet crude and theirs is more acidic.

The bigger thing is to keep China away from the Panama Canal and to keep Chinese missile systems out of range of the gulf coast (think Cuban Missile Crisis).

Read about how the US dollar is tied to petroleum and what has happened to any leader or country that tried to take their petroleum trade away from the dollar. It answers a lot of questions. It's also my understanding that Venezuela appropriated American found and paid for oil claims, and we've been trying to get them back for decades.
