Try That in A Small Town...

It’s funny I haven’t heard the song yet on 95.1 KFRG.

My buddy says we better watch it before it's taken down.

@JDMeister I didn't realize you posted this already this in the Memes thread!!!

Oh well...

It’s no joke…in 2020 when BLM showed up in St. George, armed with their skateboards to smash our small towns ONE Main Street business. The Open Carry clubs showed up too.  BLM left in a huff. BLM threatened, but never came back.

Legacy media had a St. George bash fest for a couple years. All proven false.

Thank you for sharing this song,  I DO NOT listen to country, but I could get into this type of music.

I have goose bumps on how true this song is.

PS, dont try to jack my stuff or jack others stuff if I am around! It will be John Wick 5!

It’s funny how this song came out a few months ago and all of a sudden is becoming an issue. Props to Aldean for not turning over to the woke mob.

Agreed on the country Music...haven't gotten on board with it yet. But I too can get into this.

@Jason_Aldean

In the past 24 hours I have been accused of releasing a pro-lynching song (a song that has been out since May) and was subject to the comparison that I (direct quote) was not too pleased with the nationwide BLM protests. These references are not only meritless, but dangerous. There is not a single lyric in the song that references race or points to it- and there isn’t a single video clip that isn’t real news footage -and while I can try and respect others to have their own interpretation of a song with music- this one goes too far. As so many pointed out, I was present at Route 91-where so many lost their lives- and our community recently suffered another heartbreaking tragedy. NO ONE, including me, wants to continue to see senseless headlines or families ripped apart. Try That In A Small Town, for me, refers to the feeling of a community that I had growing up, where we took care of our neighbors, regardless of differences of background or belief. Because they were our neighbors, and that was above any differences. My political views have never been something I’ve hidden from, and I know that a lot of us in this Country don’t agree on how we get back to a sense of normalcy where we go at least a day without a headline that keeps us up at night. But the desire for it to- that’s what this song is about.

It's because the video just came out with clips of the 2 years of riots, violence and chaos that was supported by the left.  The left hoped we forgot.

Sorry, Jason Aldean isn't Country music. He writes Chick songs with a rock beat and a Southern Twang . This is his first Non Chick song in 2-3 albums.

It's a great song but dude is far from "Country". Having "red dirt road" lyrics in your music doesn't qualify you, either.
He actually doesn't write songs from what I've heard.  He's from Macon, GA population 160,000, so not exactly a small town.  Oh and he went to private schools . . .

Comedian Bo Burnham called it in his parody tune "County Song"

lyrics:

I walk and talk like a field hand / But the boots I’m wearing cost three grand / I write songs about riding tractors / From the comfort of a private jet.”

Ain't happening in Grapevine TX. Peace

Can I still support the message, even though I'm not willing to listen to a country song?

:ez:

I lived in a small ranch community in eastern Oregon, population 525. My graduation class was 9 of us. This song accurately describes my experience. We never locked our doors and you could leave the keys in your car and not worry about it being stolen. Everybody waves to each other and the whole town and ranchers support each other. The people there have a lot of pride in where they live and will go all out to protect their community. I'm going there in a week or two to visit and can't wait to go, I still enjoy the people and the lifestyle.

BTW...Not too many guys can say they "dated" all but one girl in their class!  (the one I didn't was fugly and didn't meet my low standards at the time)
