We found a box of stuff from when I traveled for work.  I was very fortunate to have done a good bit of traveling for work.

The mug is from a pub in England

The lions are from south Africa and hand carved.

The pen is from Taiwan.

The cup is from Japan

The tall vase and wood house xarcing are from a town called Asturias, in the north part of Spain.  The house is typical of the old houses they had built on stilts due to lots of rain and flooding.

Brings back lots of memories.

We were in Ireland at the Guiness factory three weeks ago. Pretty awesome. England is another place we want to visit.

It was years ago and it was VERY sketchy.  Every house in Johannesburg had walls and fences with barbed wire around it.  All of the windows had bars on it.  Every house had an alarm system and if you made any money you had guards during the day when you were not home.  You did NOT stop at stop signs and as best as you could you planned your routs so that you didn't get caught at lights.  Capetown was slightly better, but you didn't go out alone at night there either....

I made 2 trips to England and they were both kind of sucky.  It poured just about the whole time I was there and I was working the rest of the time.

One funny story...  the guy that picked me up at the airport on Sunday afternoon was driving back hlthe the village and it was pouring down.  NO visibility.....  he was still doing 70 on the highway, and really I didn't feel unsafe, but still.....  as we pull into town after the 1.5 hour drive, he asks "dl you want to stop at the pub for a few pints and some grub before I take you to the hotel?".  He'll yea I was up for a few pints.  We walk into the bar and some of the folks there he knew  said.....  "Damn Jim that did take you very long".  Meaning.......   he was at the pub for who knows how long before he came to pick me up... LOL  I didn't die, so I guess it's all good.
