It looks like this propeller design came out about 2 yrs ago, but this is the first I've heard of it and it's really interesting how much more speed and efficiency they're getting out of it. I saw 2 different tests on different boats, there might be more tests that I didn't see. Considering how long current propeller designs have been around, the difference in performance is pretty amazing!

Trippy stuff. Wonder if that loop design has more surface area but still easy to get spinning. Because you could make a larger conventional prop. But then the fins are further away from the center and takes more force to spin. Its like they folded a big prop into a little stubby.

 
I was ready to order it.... until I saw the $5000 price tag.  lol

 
Imagine hitting something with that.  $5K down the shitter.  Seems way overpriced for what it is.  A 6 speed trans for a Nissan 350 Z is only $2K and I think it has way more machining and labor to build.
