A week late but a quick story from Halloween 2022...
Many years ago (maybe 2014ish?) board member @Mac posted up a freebie thread for one of his flight suits. My son was obsessed with military history (and still is) and I tought it would be cool for him to have a real flight suit so Mac shipped it to me. My dad was drafted during Vietnam and choose the Air Force, 1965 to 1970 (I think), as an F-111A Aardvark mechanic. In 2014 my wife's nephew was in the Air Force and attending the AIr Force Academy in Colorado Springs. My son worshiped his cousin Seth and we were fortunate to attend his graduation in 2016. Truly an amazing event to witness (aside from Obama speaking).
Not sure what year I took this pic, the file says 2017 but he would have been 15 then. He's a few years younger in this pic.
Cut to Halloween 2022 and my son is now 19 years old and sportng what he considers a beard. This year he went all out for his costume and absoltely nailed it.
My son, Balin, is now 19 (turns 20 Nov 26th) and 6' 2" 190lbs. Can't believe the flight suit fits him. With the popularity of the lastest Top Gun movie this costume was perfect! He completley surprised me, didn't tell any of his buddies either. They were so jacked when they picked him up for a party that night. He kept the mustache for a week and shaved. He's back to his 'beard' now.
