I married a Thai woman almost 20 yrs ago. She typically comes back home every other year. I go about once every 4 or 5 yrs. Well this year my wife had a big surprise waiting for me. She bought us a house in her hometown of Chom Beung ( a couple hrs West of Bangkok ). Now we have the luxury of traveling back and forth and have somewhere to stay. Neither one of us are quite ready to retire here yet. Anyway, tomorrow we head to Phuket for a few days before heading back to the USA. Here's some random pics since we're all visual.

Went to Suan Phueng. West of us near the Burma border. In the middle of nowhere some developers created a resort that's like a sheep farm ( Scenery Vintage Farm )Tourists come from all over to see this place. It's totally out of place compared to the area. I didn't get good pictures unfortunately to really get a sense of the place.

Last pics for now. These are random from my town. You don't see traditional restaurants like at home. People eat from street vendors and or food markets. One of my favorite things about Thailand is the food and all the scooters. Every stop light looks like the starting line of a motorcycle race. Scooters are everywhere.

Also included this truck. It was loaded with live ducks.

congrats !!!!! Looks awesome - the food looks incredible there!

:poule:

Awesome!

To truly get a perspective on the world and the good / bad of being an American there’s nothing like living / owning property in another country!

Is there a CC limit on two wheels their?

That's awesome. Couldn't imagine living / owning in another country. Good for y'all. Peace

2 things.................

1. did you ride in the turbocharged boat?  (get a video!!!!)

2. what is with the old truck?  does it run or is it just a decoration? seems unlikely it would be able to live in the weather for too many years.

Awesome stuff man.

It would be hard for me to live where i didn't know the language.

But i guess i would learn.

Living outside the US, it's a cool thought, but where i have no idea.

Very nice set up.

Question, what do you guys plan on doing with the house when you are not there? Are there any issues/worries about it being vacant for long periods of times when you are not there? And are you guys planning on going back more frequently now that yoi have your own place to stay when there.

Beautiful country.  Thanks for posting the pictures.

I spent some time there during the Vietnam War.  We had a detachment in Utapao.

Congrats, now buy the house next door for me to live in! that way we can kill ducks and eat bats together. That is a good wife, I guess that SCU will be for sale soon...
