Not sure there too many Glamis peeps in Lompoc, but I need a good reference. My Mom and my Stepdad live there, I recently found out they haven't paid taxes in 3 years and their finances are not organized anymore, welcome to getting older, I guess. If anyone has some good references, I would appreciate it. My Accountant is in SD (too far away), and we are dealing with people that are in their 80's and 90's, so doing it electronically isn't an option at this moment.
I will also need a Rental Property Managment company as well.
I am now driving up there monthly as well to figure out their finances, other family members in town are useless.............need to do it before one of them passes for sure.
Plan of action:
- Get taxes figured out
- Get rental property squared away
- Figure out all the assets
- Make sure Trust is all updated
I had to do most of this for my Dad 4 years ago, lucky we did because he passed only months later, saved the family tons in money and time.
