I have a 07 Tatum and it stalled between two dunes, sand sloped upwards in the front of me and behind me. What's the best way to get yourself out of this mess besides calling Brawley for a tow rescue

I tried rocking back and forth and it just got worse, I had a lighter rail before this one and would never be in this situation. so what's the best way to get unstuck with a heavier rail

Make sure there is fuel in it... not being an ass, but too many people stall, peer into the tank and see fuel but at an angle or depending on where the pickup is jumped, you might not be able to pick it up. Put a couple gallons in it if you have a runner available and try again. No success, check fuel pump (does it hum when you turn on the ignition) then its relay/fuse and associated wiring. Tows out there are $$$$$$ if available. It's fuel related 9 times out of 10, but no guarantee. Good luck.

Shit, didn't realize you were stuck not dead, so call for muscle to lift each side back and fourth while someone keeps filling in the ruts until you are back on top

Thanks for the reply, it fired back up fine and is full of fuel but the rear wheels have spun down and unable to Drive me out of there

If you got it running, start digging. Dig the sand around and especially in front of the paddles and hit the gas

Anyone with a side by side in your group to pull you forward ? When I had my previous ones, I had pulled a few people out of some messes. Other option is manpower if you can find some out there tonight. Flag anyone down the moment you see lights, if there cool they should help lift it (you will need 5 or 6 men) Just did this again twice this weekend again before we headed back. With a rail, you need a bit of a "start" as I have found, but 4wd in a higher power side by side is better. Hope the best for you, and that looks like a fun car.

There's a huge amount of experience on this forum and I want to take advantage of that. I want to be prepared for next time when it gets stuck. I could bring a rope and talk somebody into yanking me out of the hole or I could bring a Jack and fill the hole in. I could purchase those mats you put underneath the wheel. But I am just guessing and hoping that you guys already know the best way to get unstuck

Wow, I'm glad you didn't get hurt on that one, and it looks like your front end is still intact. And I assume you got out or you wouldn't be able to share the photos :-)

You will need to dig to China and get all the sand out from under the belly plate under engine/chassis, use a bunch of people to lift and fill sand, or utilize a machine to pull you (or a combo of a few). Jacks only help if you or someone you are with has one with a contact patch that won't pack under the sand. Maybe move this post into general chat? May get more views, and if some people are there tonight, they may help. It's going to cost you a few beers though🍻

Thank you for the suggestions, and I it's good to know that there's not an easier solution than digging it out or pulling it out

Never, never, ever dune alone!
I appreciate the "don't dune alone" advice, when I say "dune alone " I mean heading over to olds or following the asphalt Highway over to Comp Hill. Testing and making adjustments and putting around, not really duneing. But maybe even that's not a good idea.

Always try to dune with someone if possible. I many times have done a solo cruise to olds or comp. I always stick to sand highway or very well traveled roads so the potential to have help if needed is greater.
