Just recently acquired a nice set of 33 blaster #1 cuts for a extremely good deal from a friend. Just couldn't pass up the deal and decided why not. I can always resale them, trade them for the right paddles or save them for a 2D upgrade. However, my car has an 091 which I was told is fully built by the previous owner, which doesn't negate the fact that no one will recommend the 33 blaster for an 091.

Car has an n/a 3.2 j series, its a 5 seater and is relatively light weight (I would say the "mid-size" category on STU's website). Also to note, I am very easy on transaxles. Learned that by having beam cars w/ turbo vw's w/ type 1 transaxles. I mainly enjoy pure duning and avoid trying to skip whoops at all costs, let off the throttle when the rear tires leave the ground, yada yada yada...

Wanted to see if anyone on here is running these paddles with an 091 to get their real world experience or understand if anyone has modified them to work with an 091.

I have seen several cars online (not a whole bunch) similar to mine with these paddles and an 091. Haven't seen anyone in person to ask the question though. I have also seen a set of 33 blasters for sale awhile back that where stagged cut and the seller mentioned the cut was perfect for cars with 091's.

My main reasons for getting them are that one day I will put a 2D in the car and turbo it, increased ground clearance vs the 13.00's #2 cuts it has now and obviously looks.

Heading out to glamis tomorrow in the AM. Will be trying them out when I get there and bringing the 1300's in case I need to swap back to a smaller paddle.

TIA for any input! Couldn't find this topic with a basic search.

Air them up a lot and be easy with your right foot. Especially right now. The sand is heavy and tore up. I’d be more concerned with the gearing change it’s gonna cause.

I was going to plan to run them around 18psi. Hoping that's a happy medium. Ya not looking forward to hammered dunes, hoping yesterdays W helped out with that. Also a concern of mine, with the 1300s I was very high up in the RPMs in 2nd and was not able to use much of 3rd.

Would it bog out in 3rd gear after the upshift? What's your idea of very high up in RPMs?

Also: stay out of the throttle in whoops. :)

Well, the car was great with the 33s until I added 4 passengers. The extra ground clearance was nice, but my trans just isn’t geared right. Swapped the 1300s back on this afternoon.

@Rockwood, hitting the rev limiter a lot in 2nd and lugging in 3rd with the 1300s
