Been in the dunes for a while now, but don’t have the decades of experience that many folks on here have. What spare parts do you take to the dunes. I’ve been lucky so far, but I know my time is coming. Also curious about parts for the motor home. Very interested in keeping the wife comfortable.

Your parts will be determined by your mechanical ability to repair in the dunes. Tow rope, wire tie, zip ties, ratchet strap, and a few adjustable wrenches is a must. From there I would include any relays, some wire, electrical components, spare cv, boot, clips, and bolts. Grab minimal tools and when you work on your car use your spare tools to be sure they fit and work.

For the RV, I always bring a large tow rope, spare plumbing fittings, water pump, correct size wrenches for your slide out, and spare wood if you get stuck.

Spare microwave when my wife isn't with me haha.

Great suggestions.  Thank you.

For the motorhome, a spare water pump for sure, they usually don't give any warning before they go out. I keep a spare set of wheel bearings for the trailer in the trailer. As far as toys, it depends on what they are. Bikes and quads, usually just spark plugs and a spare whip. For a sxs, spare belt and spare complete rear axle assembly. For a sand rail, anything that might fail like an alternator, belt, water pump, cvs, cv boots, axles, etc.

For Motorhome and trailer:

- Wheel bearings (trailer) and the tools to replace, this includes a cutting wheel in case the race is thrashed.

- Fuses, fuses and more fuses

- Water Pump of course

- Big wrenches for the slide outs, sucks when they can't go back in.

- Everything to do a service on Generator, never know what it needs

- AAA RV

- engine oil, tranny fluid, Coolant, even belts for the engine.

Always have in trailer for anything:

- Duct tape

- Bailing wire and electrical wire

- Zip ties

- lots of wire connectors and such

- lots of spare bolts and nuts

- all the fluids

I can go on and on, you get it.

Same topic was discussed in May.  Do a search for spares and you will find it.  2 pages of parts.
