This months full moon has a special name. Find out what it is. I love talking about our solar system and galaxy. It makes for interesting conversation around the camp fire. Did you know that when ever it is a full moon it would be “noon” on the moon? Because the sun and earth are opposite each other and the earth is in the middle

share an interesting fact you know about our solar system and galaxy

Alls I know is it's big.  Like bigger than I can really comprehend big.

Having dealt with the public for nearly 40 years, I found there is truth to the "myth" of the full moon bringing out wackos(lunatics).

100% truth.  I worked at an auto parts store when I was in college.  2-10 shift so I could get day classes.  NO DOUBT in my mind some folks are seriously affected by the full moon.  Customers I've seen for years, going off of the rails.

Loved learning the old cliche' "Once in a Blue Moon" meant. I thought it was just a cliche'

Two full moons in one month. Doesn't happen very often! Peace

My wife is a labor and delivery nurse, this is common knowledge in her specialty that they will be slammed and hopefully offering overtime pay. It’s not quite like clockwork but I’d say at the very least 75% accurate. That and weird astrological instances of the planets aligning and whatnot. Mercury in retrograde seems to be another common one for moms to be heading into labor.

I've always found it crazy that the angular subtense of the sun and the moon are almost exactly the same, i.e. they look almost exactly the same size to us on Earth. The diameter of the sun is 400 times bigger than the moon but it is also 400 times farther away.
