Skat Trak been an institution in the sand hobby for way longer than I have been in it. My cousin used to go to clean genes in the eighties to rent skat trak haulers for his home made atc 500. In this world of get it now and get it cheap, it's extremely hard for an American made product to compete. I hope someone buys the business and keeps the legend alive.
Bummer. I was about to buy a set of 22x7x10s for the front of my TRX250R and have them shaved down by Skat. Always thought their 21x7x10 looked too small. Anyone know of a place to shave them down before I buy a tire groover to try them myself?
Makes me wonder what they were doing wrong? Seems like the demand is definitely there and people were ordering and waiting for tires. Sad to hear they closed the doors. Hopefully someone buys the name and brings them back.
Sand craft in Phoenix took over making skat trak’s style tires. Paddles have different names but are the same design. Years ago skat molded the paddles onto sand crafts tires. Now they do it all in house at sand craft. They have a helicopter too!!!
