I bought three passes at the Sand Show and they had a $10 per pass CC/debit card fee. Some bullshit.

How does that work? I'm sure they ran the card once for 3 passes right?

Got mine at the show and paid cash to avoid the $10 CC fee.

Does the ASA actually get a cut if purchased through them vs getting it anywhere else?

Yes all passes must be sold at the same price, but they can charge CC fee or shipping. The ASA and local dealership make the same amount, and it is not much. I want to say a site sponsor was making $5.00 for a weekly pass that he had to pay up front. Not sure if that is still the same or not.
 
Got mine at the ASA booth as well with cash to avoid the fee.

Also got a 1 year membership for $25 to support the dunes, plus they offered a $25 RMATV MC gift card with the annual membership purchase which was nice

They told me cash was $150 each. I didn't have $450 cah so they ran my debit card for $480. Next year I'll buy from Red Earth.
 
Yep, they wanted $320 CC for my two passes or $300 cash. Got lucky and hadn't blown all my cash yet :)
 
Bought mine at the ASA booth and paid cash so I could get one more 🍺 for $20.

BTW my ASA membership gets renewed every year on my credit card and there is no additional fee.

So there is no credit card fee for a membership, only for a pass?
 
got mine at the sand show. last 2 years i ordered online but when it was shipped it was signature required. im out of my house most the day, and getting to the post office by my house was a pain to do. gladly pay the extra $10 at the show to not have to worry about getting to the post office to sign for something.
 
It's like buying popcorn from the Boy Scouts for ten bucks a bag.

What you are Really doing is donating to the Boy Scouts, and getting a free bag of popcorn!
