Saw a post on another forum saying that PCI's FB page has an announcement saying SCORE has parted ways with their radio relay service.

Doesn't appear to be mutual. PCI made it clear that it was SCORE's decision.Hopefully it was a mutual decision, That is a longstanding business relationship to end any other way...
There's no loyalty in business anymore...40 years of dedication and gone. Very surprising and extremely disappointing.
They provided location services for a lot of race teams who needed an update on where their race vehicle was and what their status was. They also were VERY important when it came to coordinating emergencies. If there was a medical emergency situation they were the ones in contact with emercency services giving updates and locations so that the injured party could get the help they need.So I've had heard of him, and his son and when using a radio was always told to stay off that channel but I frankly don't know anything about the purpose or what he did for the racing community. I would love to know more. Would anybody care to fill in clueless off roader like me about him or what took place and how can he be "dumped?" Sort of thing? Was it a paid profession? Anywho, just being nosy I guess but I know he meant a lot to the racing community. Thanks!
"Weatherman" is/was a radio replay for racing in Mexico (Baja 1000, etc...) the owners of PCI radios erected a radio tower on the highest mountain peak for these races. The provided a service for the race operations and racers to communicate. It was the only way many of us could follow the race, you'd listen to the chatter and could get all kinds of good info. Race leaders, split times, emergency issues all kinds of race talk. Once I was at Prowlers and the race was being broadcast on the loud speakers in the store/warehouse for all the employees to listen to their favorite teams. So I've had heard of him, and his son and when using a radio was always told to stay off that channel but I frankly don't know anything about the purpose or what he did for the racing community.
