Sand Stallion

I remember when these were built in Mesa Az. If it’s the same builder, I believe his name was Loren and he built most of them in his shop in the backyard. Most of the cars he built were either Nissan or Honda engines.

Before the board had its meltdown, there were a couple of threads on here about his cars and , if I remember correctly, one of them involved a lawsuit about a stuck throttle cable or something like that. This was probably around 2005 or so

I wonder how the ergonomics work on that dude. Center of gravity looks centered well. Peace

It looks a lot like a Desert Dynamics.
Yeah, it's a really good looking car. Since I never seem to keep anything I don't want to be stuck when it comes time to sell.

According to the seller it's the best handling car he's ever had.  I believe he said it's 94in wide front/rear and 14'6'' long.

Looks a lot like a DD to me, or a close copy. We had a buddy with a Sand Stallion 4 seater and it looked nothing like this car. We nicknamed his car "Dune Donkey".

I remember seeing this car for sale a while back, it's a good looking car, minus the stickers, looks like it would be a fun ride. Why are there so many gauges??? I can't think of that many things that need to be monitored...

Sorry I'm no help, never seen one, or even heard that name before...

I'm curious if anybody knows the history of the company. Was the guy a fabricator from a top tier shop and went independent ?  I would hate to end up with another Sand Candy type car. Is this thing on par with the likes of some of the other smaller name brands like Amplified, Wuerth , RFR , Sandwinder , etc.

I talked with the owner years ago about building a car. He didn't last long.  I think one of his cars was involved in an accident early on and he got sued. Not sure if that's what led to his demise, or what. I do remember seeing pictures of his earlier builds and his seatbelts were routed to the floor. I found it to be odd. This car looks more like  DD car then a sand stallion, but who knows. Dave at DD built allot of chassis for other builders.  Hell , I almost used him for the manx's.  It could be one of his cars with another brand name attached to it.

Almost everything about that car says Dave at DD. From the bulkhead design, from arm double sheer pickups, rear shock towers, front upper and lower arms, rear arms, torsion tube mounts, and more. The ONLY thing that doesn't look like a DD is the removable section of the rear cage. If you told me this was a DD I would have zero doubt in my mind it was. Looks like a blast of a car

I never pulled the trigger on the Stallion but this little Philly fell into my lap. Couldn't be happier so far. Has a nasty motor by JAlper.
