Just got notification from Allstate whom I’ve had forever for my Gen 3 Funco with 5.3L that they are not insuring anything in CA any longer. Who’s the go to??

Email I received back from them:

We received a notification that you are looking for a quote on your Funco Gen 3. Unfortunately, in California Foremost is the only carrier that we are aware of that will write this type of unit and they are not accepting new business in the state at this moment. If the vehicle will be garaged and registered in a different state please let me know and I can work on getting a quote for you, if that is the case.

Sorry I couldn’t help you with this at the moment. I do have a running list I can add you to it if you’d like and once Foremost re opens this market I will reach out to you.

Thank you and let me know if there is anything else I can assist you with.

Talk to Stephan. His guy got me covered
Thank you, got a quote from them and it seems pretty in line. Little higher than expected and previous but what's a mother to do?!

Who is Stephan and what underwriter quoted? I’ll be in the market for insurance on my new Funco soon.

This is who insures my car and toy hauler. write a few appraisals for them every month.

I’ve got mine with Progressive. It’s full coverage with a stated value I chose, and is $507 for 6 months. It’s got a California green sticker, and they have it classified as a “2005 VOLKSWAGEN SPCN DB” even though it’s not a VW.

Unless you’re running a monster Manx w/ a VIN, that sounds ripe for a denied claim of a situation ever arises.

I hope not, I questioned them pretty hard when I got the policy and they assured me they understand it’s OHV. I also have my RZR, toy hauler, two motorcycles, and regular cars with them between three different policies.

Ugh, I hate insurance!

@Mayday, amen to that. I've been driving since 1985 and haven't once made an auto claim..... even when my bike was stolen, I paid for it out of pocket.

I use state farm but im in az.When i got my car covered i had to go back and forth on description and for ohv they basically had 2 classes motorcycle or utv.Said it comes down to handlebars or steering wheel

so good for now and needed for street use but worried that when they too decide to not cover utvs i may have to shop around and they know there are alot of claims for sxs.

I have mine through state farm in CA, they took forever to get the policy written but I was able to insure my car for the full value and not the $50k limit like most insurance companies have now

I hope you questioned them via reproducible Emails and not just verbally over the phone.
