S&B air filters

Anyone have a problem with the new stile S&B? Spent a week at Glamis with wife & friends. I have a 2019 Turbo S with the new S&B. Ive ridden trails up by Bass lake that are really dusty this was the reason I bought the S&B. When I got home I wanted to see how dirty the filter was and got a LOT of dirt out of it. Way to much in my opinion for the dust we drove through. Heres a of picture of the dirt in the filter. By the way it wa brand new filter so I could teat how well the S&B worked.

Dirt outside the filter is exactly what you shuold see, the more the better.  Dirt inside the intake is a problem.  I run a 9"X4" K&N on my LS2 w/supercharger and have two spares in my trailer and swap them out during extended trips.

I thought the S&B filters was supposed to keep the dirt from getting to the filter?  Does a fan come on when the car is running? (In the S&B housing)

Yes everything seems to work the way its suppose to but its not. Brother has the same set up on his 900 and didnt have this much dirt. His is the old stile S&B

When trail riding I use to change my filter every day. Also always use a pre filter. DON~~~

2 different things here.

S&B filter - Filter needs to be cleaned often, yes there will be a lot of dirt and as long as its on the outside your good.

S&B Particle Separator - Don't need to clean filter as often, I have one and love it. Especially after having to rebuild a 900 motor due to not keeping the filter clean.

I am seriously think of getting the S&B separator for my car.. I clean the filter after every weekend out anyway but I have heard good things.. If I could Find a donaldson filter for the Can am I probably wouldnt go with the Separator because I ran the Blue Donaldson on my RZR and Never ever an issue
