Don Schumacher, a drag racing legend who started his own race team, died on Wednesday after a battle with lung cancer, the National Hot Rod Association announced. He was 79.

RIP...my dad was a big NHRA guy and for years would fly to other states to watch and follow the racig,check out other tracks.he would take me and my brother from time to time if we could get off school at the time.so I know the name well and am saddened to hear the news.
