Remember the hype?

Biggest sham of all time.. as anyone knows you could set the dates on a computer easily. Anybody could just set the date and the clock and see what happens.. and nothing happened

all the panic ensuing for that date, i go out and buy a sawed off shotgun JUST in case............ my background check came back the day after lol.
still have it unshot

You know I'm not really one for correcting people on shit online.. but there's no way you bought a "sawed off" shot gun.. Unless you bought a shotgun and then sawed off the barrel which I wouldn't be admitting to online.

The biggest issue that faced everyone was anyone with an older processor and Ram capacity only had a 2 digit date, the "19" part of the date was static in older RAM's due to the limited capacity. Our in-house server had been upgraded but the software hadn't yet.

I asked a guy I worked with (back then)...

So how did they calculate the 30 year loan on your house, if the computers won't go past next year?

Crickets. 😜

I worked for Wells Fargo during this time. It was a run on our bank for sure. Older folks wanted their funds and they wanted them now!!! It was pretty crazy for a month or two.

Y2K we went to Las Vegas for NYE...it was INSANE, what a party.

In times like this, you must ask "What would Flavor Flav do?"

Looking at the world we have now, maybe it would’ve been ok if the computers crashed. Even if just for a decade or two.
