My 5 year (15k mile) Red Head steering gear decided to puke all its fluid out.

While I loved it's performance until now, I'm a little weary of ordering another.

Anybody have a recommendation of a better one? Blue Top steering gears any good?

02 f350 7.3 4.5" lift.

I changed one in my Silverado about a year ago and at the time Red top was getting some bad reviews. I went with a blue top and it came pretty stiff it didn't loosen up for at least a thousand miles. My local alignment guy said that it's a crap shoot getting these boxes rebuilt almost a 50% failure rate.

Yeah. In my research for a new box I'm reading that the QC on the Red Heads have gone down.

Thanks for the input.

Spoke to Red Head this morning.  They are sending me a seal kit for 1/2 price and I'll attempt to reseal it myself. Wish me luck.

I’ve had multiple bad experiences with RedHead. Very happy with the PSC that’s in my pickup now.
