Does anyone have this?   Does regular Cigna etc cover this?   Are there GD discounts?

If it isn't life threatening they will NOT fly you, or your 14 year old son with a broken back. Eff them. But you're welcome to wait 6 hours in the Brawley ER with your son strapped to a backboard for an ambulance, then a 3 hour drive to Rady Children's. But that's just my experience.

That sucks, I'd be pissed off.

Do they list out exactly what is covered or not covered?

"Life threatening" is too vague and open to their discretion it seems.

I had a Reach membership for several years while I was racing Baja, CA, NV and AZ. Added the family when the kids started riding. Only ever tried to use it once and was very disappointed. I don't j ow what they define as life threatening. The ER doctor at Brawley even got involved to try and get them to fly my son out. Nope. That was 2017. Haven't renewed my membership since then.

Not saying it's a bad service, just read the fine print and understand what you're actually paying for.

I always thought it was the discretion of the people on the ground to decide if life flight is needed or not?

I have been with 2 different incidents with people we camp with . Have flights . I believe it’s up to the EMT that shows ups that decided if it was needed  .

One was a 75 year old female with back injury’s .
Other was a 40s male possible head trauma . Both were coherent at the time they called for Reach .

I do have a Reach  membership I feel is cheap insurance at less than $100 a year for a household .

I've thought about buying this. Don't like the small print crap. Peace

I've had it for years, never used it and hope to never use it. If/when I do sure hope it helps out.

I still haven't figured out if my insurance covers helo rides.  For trauma, I think so.

I think it's very important to stay within your capabilities. Don't go out on a ride with fast seasoned veterans and try to hang. Know your limitations. Be Safe. With that said.........It's so hard NOT to Rip around these Dunes. The terrain is unforgiving. Have a great time. Learn! Peace

Hey chEFF..............Thanks Captain Obvious. ^^^^^^^^^ Peace

I have it.   Your regular insurance is only going to cover so much of a helicopter ride, if any of it.   With Reach you don't have to worry.

For $65/yr, I will deal with the fine print.  If I do have to get life flighted I know I am covered, my regular insurance does not cover it that I am sure of.

I think this investment is a good one. Peace

I broke my neck near the swingset 2 years ago. There weren't any helicopters available at the time, so I got to ride in the EMS Funco, then ambulance to Brawley. Once they found out the extent of my damage, (broken C2, 6 ribs, and sternum), I was helicopter'd to San Diego. That one was covered by Reach.

I recommend everyone add the Fly-U-Home to their membership as well. After stabilizing in San Diego, the next day they flew me back to a hospital in Phoenix which was covered by that add-on to the membership.
